Interviewed Oct 2011 in Richmond, VA (took 3 weeks)
freelance recruiter referred me to the in-house (suntrust recruiter). application went to suntrust's HR department. phone screen with HR. then phone screen with hiring manager (director level). then in-person panel interview followed by in-person interview with director of department. very standard internal audit, resume and personality type questions. just know what you have been doing and where you want to go in next 3-5 years. appeared that the department was a little top-heavy and they need worker bees to do the actual testing, and ticking and tieing.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 2+ weeks)
I first had an interview with the SunTrust recruiter. She gave me all the details of the positions available and submitted my resume to the hiring managers for review. After the review (which was a maybe 48 hours), she called back to set up a face-to-face interview with the managers.
The interview was set up with the manager. I was able to interview and within 48 hours I was offered the position. The questions were easy for me to answer because I had done my homework. I would say know your resume and what you can offer the company.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Richmond, VA (took 6 weeks)
The staffing agency I worked with submitted my resume to SunTrust, and they showed interest on my skill-set. One of the hiring managers wanted to have a phone meeting with me. After the phone interview, they wanted to arrange another phone interview with the other managers, however, they skipped this part and invited me to have a face-to-face interview a week later. In this final interview, i met with 6 managers in 4 different meetings.
In my first interview, I was asked several questions mainly about my background and experiences. The second interview was similar to the first one in terms of questions, but it was with different managers. Some of the questions I was asked in the first two interviews were irrelevant with the position, but i felt that the interviewers put more importance to my answers in these questions before making their final decision. It wasn't very difficult to notice that they were inexperienced about the job interviews.
In the third one, I talked with the head of the department and he tried to explain why their department is a great place to work and grow. I listened to him very carefully, since i found that his messages are very useful and important. In the final meeting, i met with the hiring manager, and he gave me a sense of what kind of projects they are working on. That was fun, interesting and very informative.
A few days later, I was contacted by the agency, and they let me know that their answer was negative.

Interviewed Sep 2009 (took 4 weeks)
Networked to get to the "right " person to get an interview after getting my Florida Mortgage Brokers licesnse. It may have been the timing as to whether they were considering new hires due to the real estate market conditions.
Overal I think THink Suntrust Mortgage would be a good company to work for as they seem to promote from within.

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Richmond, VA (took 3 weeks)
The interview process was fairly straight forward as the recruiter was easy to reach and helpful in his descriptions of next steps, etc. I had an initial phone interview with the recruiter, then another phone interview with 2 managers, then an onsite with 2 people, then the offer.
