Interview Details – We had to submit our resumes through our university and then STRH decided on what candidates would receive an interview. There was a little mixer the day before the interview where you could meet the interviewers and other current employees in a more social and less formal setting. I had an on campus interview and this was the only interview before they hired for the position.
Interview Question – At the time I had my interview Dell INC was in the process of going private through a leveraged buyout. They asked me if I was Dell, what my next step was. This caught me off-guard as I dont have any business experience, being a student looking for an internship. Answer Question
No Offer – Interviewed in Jacksonville, FL Feb 2013 – Reviewed Mar 21, 2013
Interview Details – I interviewed on campus at my school. The questions start off relatively simple, like walk me through your resume. After that they become more technical and based on how would you value a company. I was also asked alot about the economy. Overall, I liked the interviewers. They were asking serious questions but they were not intimidating.
Interview Question – What do you think goes into the IPO process? Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Atlanta, GA Oct 2012 – Reviewed Mar 5, 2013
Interview Details – First interview on a Monday and heard back Tuesday. Flew out Thursday morning to get to know a lot of the VP and MDs during a cocktail hour. Later at night met a lot of analysts and associates at a dinner and then went back to hotel. Early in the morning had 7- 30 minute interviews with all different associates, VPs and MDs in all different industries in their offices. Given a mentor for the time being who was very helpful through out the process. Great company everyone seems down to earth. Best culture of any investment bank I have been to.
Interview Question – Very different behavioral questions which make you think and analyze how to answer it. A few technical questions dealing with valuation of companies. Looking for motivated, hardworking, and leadership skills. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – They offered me a position the next week. Called and told me offer (every analyst receives same offer).
No Offer – Interviewed in Atlanta, GA Jan 2013 – Reviewed Jan 25, 2013
Interview Details – I applied online through my career center. It was only one on campus interview. It was about half fit, half technical. They had me walk me though my resume, then asked why STRH and why Atlanta. The two senior bankers didn't have much personality, and were a little bit rude. Afterwords, they invited the top 3-4 candidates to dinner to make their final decision.
Interview Question – How would you assess the credit worthiness of a company? Answer Question
No Offer – Interviewed in Winston-Salem, NC Sep 2012 – Reviewed Oct 12, 2012
Interview Details – I applied online via my university's campus recruiting system. The night before the interview they took all the candidates out to dinner for an informal meet and greet. The interview itself was half behavioral, half technical finance. It was a 2:1 with a Senior Banker and a Research Analyst. Overall, the interview was straightforward and not too difficult. Be prepared for a lot of technical questions in a short period of time though.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Atlanta, GA Mar 2012 – Reviewed May 15, 2012
Interview Details – They had a mixer the night before that I went to. Got to know all of the STRH people who came to campus, which helped when I arrived for my interview the next morning. Questions were a mix of technical and behavioral- a large focus on my willingness to accept an offer in ATL instead of NY or Chicago.
Interview Questions
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Atlanta, GA Sep 2010 – Reviewed Jan 21, 2012
Interview Details – Painful - it was with multiple people and none of them were as experienced as I was. I realized quickly I was interviewing for a job with a company that did not have the talent I was used to working with. I felt uncomfortable because the people I met with were not very good.
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details – Yes - I would advise others to consider any alternate offers they may have if any.
Declined Offer – Interviewed in Atlanta, GA Sep 2011 – Reviewed Oct 17, 2011
Interview Details – I had a phone interview that was primarily behaviorally based. They had my resume in hand, so I'm assuming that they wanted to check for red flags. I was brought in to interview with three people who were a part of the team I would be working for. Be yourself as you work through this, and you have a good chance at an offer. If you fake it, you'll regret it down the road even if you get the job.
Interview Question – Describe the toughest experience in your life, and describe how did you handled it. Answer Question
Reason for Declining – I didn't think it was a great fit, and I had other more exciting opportunities.
