Interviewed Oct 2011 in San Diego, CA (took 2 days)
I applied online after reading job posting in San Diego Reader Jobs publication. The posted position was for a 'Valet', but after going to the companys website and seeing a broader list of available positions I chose 'Cashier'. I submitted my resume to the online application program, as well as completed the online assesment test. It was a basic math test to determine parking fees by the hour. I was called for an interview the following Monday at the corporate office and was interviewed by the manager who oversees the account with SDSU Viejas Arena. The manager gave a to the point explanation of the job duties(parking control for events), pay (min wage), and hours (part time, varied by event). The interview questions were basic interview (strengths, describe problems and resolutions in prev jobs, etc.), giving a good idea of your personality, inteligence, and capabilities. I got the impression most candidates would be accepted if manager didnt see any red flags. I was contacted by email later that day with a job offer, employment forms package, scheduled for orientation, and prepaid apointment for the required drug test. Orientation was brief (not the stated 4 hours) little over an hour and gave a basic history of the company and its partners, also known as LAZ Parking which cleared up the somewhat confusing duplicate emails I recieved from both Sunset and LAZ. As I had completed all the employment forms package online from a link in my employment offer email, I was conditionally hired pending the outcome of drug test and was given a uniform shirt and jacket and my managersnumber (same as interviewed me). my first day was the following Monday and was exactly as I was told. Parking lot and Traffic control for events at the Arena.
