Interviewed May 2010 in Mumbai (India) (took 2 days)
The initial communications started from the call from the company by asking me the basic question of my educational qualification, where i stay and whether i am comfortable with the night shifts and interested in working in the particular field. after knowing my views they scheduled my interview date and called me for the same. there were total 4 rounds of interview, 1. HR interview 2. aptitude test 3. group interview 4. operation interview.........In the above interview the interviewer checked how confident we are, our general knowledge and knowledge about the field, it also check our patience and whether we can handle the high work pressure or not ....... The working environment and people are good with whom i came contact with.

Interviewed Apr 2012 (took 2 weeks)
The HR contacted me for a lead position and the negotiation happened. One week later , the technical interview happenend, which I assume went fine. But after that no feedback on interview, no response from HR. Called HR and some other guy responded "He will be in by 5:30 pm. Oh, I thought , I was dealing with someone based in US. This HR person never called back, never repsonded to emails. When I called him back from a diffferent number, he picked and as expected, was caught unaware. Oh, I was on leave and didn't see your email. I understand, if someone is on leave for 3 days , he/she has out of office assistance to help other side know your unavailability. Negative experience and thankfully, I am not moving forward.
Joke of the process- HR guy told me during salary negotiation "I am a only middleman ". lol. I read that
HR are change agent and this guy claims to be a middleman between company and the candidate.
They cannot hire people in US with such attitude. At least spend some money on the HR and keep the recruitment person in US so that he/she can be available during US office hours.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Pune (India) (took a day)
There were a written test organized by Syntel in Our College, but there were no representative from Syntel, However the were online.
Written test were from English an Reasoning mostly and very little questions from Quant.
Selected students went for the interview process as a pool campus interview.
In the interview there were three rounds starting from Group Discussion then Technical Interview and finally Personal Interview or HR Interview.
Every round was elimination round.
In the Group Discussion they took a group of 10 to discuss a familiar topic. It was quite easy, but only one judge were there to select students for the next round.
Selected students gone through Tecnical interview followed b HR Interview if selected.
Interviewer were experienced, so atleast I am satisfied with Interview process.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Mumbai (India) (took a day)
Overall interview process was good. there were two rounds both technical.
I got the initial offer letter letter after clearing both rounds.but then it took around 3 months to get the actual offer letter and the joining date.
This is the worst thing about Syntel. They always keep selected people on hold for months and years( for freshers).

The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interview Questions
Negotiation Details
Its plain bargaining - Syntel does not have professionals to doing this task of speaking to a prospective employee. If you think that you have a great resume and intend to sell yourself here ...this is would be my advice - The strength of the negotiation lies in the tenacity of the negotiator.
