Interviewed Nov 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took 1+ week)
The recruiter worked with me to find the right fit while I targeted jobs that were interesting. We found a team that was interested in me and we set up the interview. I went in person to meet with 3 team members, though only 2 were available that day. Since I was also interviewing elsewhere I let the recruiter know that and they wanted to make an offer so had me stall my other process. In the end the offer was made over the phone.

Reason for Declining
Weighing both offers against each other I made the best choice for me based on where I was at that point in my life. I would have enjoyed working there but the offer I took allowed me a bit more flexibility for work/life balance.
Other Details
I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took 3 days)
The initial e-mail and phone interaction was good, but the face-to-face interview was odd and disappointing. The recruiter raced through a list of questions and it became obvious that she or her recruiting company were expected to interview x candidates per day. With all that I was still informed I would be on a short list and they would call me the following week. Never happened. Much ado about nothing.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took a day)
The hiring process was very simple. Just one phone interview with a manager and a senior engineer. Had both technical and behavioral interview. Was almost 45-50 min. Usual behavioral questions and not so difficult technical questions. Got the offer on same day itself by the HR.

I can not images 6 phone interviews for a Sr engineer, and they try to save money by not introducing a onsite interview.

Negotiation Details
It's difficult to find the right fit for this job. Unless you are made for this position and a rock star, i think negotiating would seem pointless on their part. The replacement rate for this role is high. They are very picky, they have to be very picky, for this role. It is not a job just anyone could do. If you take the job, be very sure you can do it. Have prior experience as a stellar CSR at t-mobile, along with high analytical aptitude. Then you have a chance at negotiating. Otherwise, you're probably not even going to get the job due to requirements of mastery of systems and "tribal knowledge".

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Bellevue, WA (took 3 weeks)
1. HR screening (30 mins)
2. Phone call (60 mins) - analytical assessment with case questions
3. 1 on 1 interview (30 mins)- general questions about my work experience
4. 1 on 1 w/ manager (60 mins) - questions about work experience, analytical assessments, explanation of roles and responsibilities
5. Take home case with 3 hour time limit (extra time given for data mining) - building an excel model around cost competitiveness w/ 5 slide ppt. presentation. Crazy difficult.
T-mobile doesn't have any "set" interview questions. They leave it up to the interviewers to prepare questions for the interview.
Recently (June '11) they have made a more concerted effort to include case studies in their interviews so they can have greater insight into how you think, and how you work with others. Get yourself a list of case questions and practice before the interview to get your mind in case mode.

Negotiation Details
Negotiate the best you can before they give you an offer. Once they give you an offer, it's set in stone (or that was the case with me). Try to argue that you will be doing the work of people in positions higher than you, so you should be compensated as such. It worked for me.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took a day)
I had a phone screen and then 6 1:1 interviews 2 weeks later. The interviews were back-to-back and I thought they went very well. I stumbled on one question: If you worked for a TV manufacturer and had to build a better remote control, how would you proceed? I forgot to mention that I would seek input from users/customers.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took 4+ weeks)
A recruiter from another state contacted me about the job. The first phone interview was with the Senior Manager on the team. The interview was not very technically, more about personality and why you wanted to join the team. After 2 weeks, a second phone interview was set up with the manager I will be working directly with. A week later, an offer was made.
