Application

The process took 1 dayinterviewed at T. Rowe Price (Owings Mills, MD) in November 2010.

Interview

For a significant player in the financial space, the Marketing Department was very average. Interviewed over the course of 5-6 hours for a management level position. Had to interview with five different marketers, each less impressive than the next. No creative juice. Just personnel that had figured out how to keep their job's till the next week. None were well versed in any digital tactics and the operating system was circa 1990. No drive to stand-out and be thought leaders. Also, no one was direct with the questioning, which helped to expose them of their lack of knowledge.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a weekinterviewed at T. Rowe Price in February 2011.

    Interview

    T. Rowe had two rounds of interviews. The first round was strictly behavioral and 30 minutes long. The second round was also mostly behavior with some case questions mixed in. Yet it was a full-day interview with 5 people in a 1:1 format. It was like interviewing at an investment bank rather than a small financial services company. Overall, if you like a conservative culture, this is the work place for you. T. Rowe is overly collaborative and thus it takes a long time to implement changes. On the plus side, work life balance is pretty good at T. Rowe with most people working 9 hour days. Emphasis experiences on teams and how you fit into teams rather than challenge teams.

    Reasons for Declining

I did not like the company culture. It was far too conservative and every employee complained that it took too long to make a decision. Also the company has a lack of diversity both in terms of minorities and women.
