    Associate, CMRM Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate  in  Toronto, ON (Canada)
Anonymous Interview Candidate in Toronto, ON (Canada)
    Application Details

I interviewed through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks - interviewed at TD Bank in June 2014.

    Interview Details

16 people were chosen for the first interview which consisted of two back-to-back parts: behavioural and behavioural+technical. Most technical questions have to do with risk management (what market risk measures do you know) but some just test your general knowledge of finance (how to price a bond/company). The second interview follows the same format. The interviewers are HRs for behavioural questions and risk management people for technical ones. 8 people made it to the second round and 4 were planned to be hired, although I don't know if they indeed were. Make sure to google your interviewers' names before the interview. You can predict many technical questions just by looking at their title/research work. For example, if your interviewer has a background in data management for market risk management, you're likely get a question on data governance processes in CMRM.

    Interview Questions
    • How to price a bond?
How would you evaluate a company?
        Answer Question
    • Suppose you are responsible for a report that must come out by a certain time. The system glitches and you can't produce the report on time. What actions will you take?   Answer Question
    • Tell me about the mistake you made and the lesson you learnt from it   Answer Question
    • What's your favorite type of security. Let's say you answer "a bond". How would you calculate a bond's delta? What other Greeks do you know?   Answer Question
    • Suppose you receive two pieces of work and it is likely that you can only finish one on time. What will you do? Will you tell one of the managers upfront that you can't finish their work   View Answer

    Customer Service Representative Interview

    Application Details

I interviewed through an employee referral - interviewed at TD Bank in October 2013.

    Interview Details

Applied through web site - no response. Branch where my friend worked as CSR was going to hire. I went in and gave my resume to CSR manager. Then went in again and spoke with a branch manager giving him my resume who said that if they would not plan to hire he would send my resume to other branches (which never happened). Then my friend told me to email resume to CSR manager again, because they finally made a decision to hire (few months elapsed from initial contact). My friend sent me questions CSR manager could ask. So I was prepared, but overall interview process was not hard. Very intuitive questions and responses. What I would suggest is giving a smart question. I asked CSR manager question about Customer Experience Index TD has, and how was he going to improve branch's CIE. He spent 30 min answering it. So I was talking first 30 min, and he was talking last 30 min.

    Assistant Vice President Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate  in  Toronto, ON (Canada)
Anonymous Interview Candidate in Toronto, ON (Canada)
    Application Details

I interviewed in-person - interviewed at TD Bank in May 2011.

    Interview Details

My interview process included meetings with eight different people from hiring department and from departments that interact with the hiring department. It is common for the interview process to require meeting with a dozen or more people. The logic is that this number of interviews allow the candidate to size up the company, as well letting the company evaluate the candidate. The interviews were quite structured.

    • Most questions were behavioral. None were particularly memorable.   Answer Question
