    Product Project Manager Interview

Anonymous Employee in Toronto, ON (Canada)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 dayinterviewed at TD Bank Financial Group (Toronto, ON (Canada)) in July 2010.

    Interview

The Hiring Manager (Sr Project Manager) directly contacted me and scheduled the interview. She and one more Sr Manager took the interview. She was the only one talking, she came directly on questions- give an example of a complex project you managed. She asked me to repeat lot of information as she wanted to note down the nature of business complexity and the technical complexity, size of the team, budget and why I thought the project was complex. Then she asked me an example where I faced a challenge and how I dealt with that. Also if the same challenge comes in this position, how would I handle that. Other questions were around the details of the team managed, how many were directly reporting, an average budget and size of team etc etc. Then the routine questions, what others think of you, your strengths and weaknesses. I knew that they are looking for somebody with more (more than 5 yrs) experienceand someone who has handled large projects (more than 12M). I personally did not like the attitude and unfriendliness of the hiring manager. She did not made me feel respected. The interview lasted for 30 minutes.

Lots of the same questions from the phone interview, except this time there was more behavioral questions. It was pretty easy,

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 dayinterviewed at TD Bank Financial Group in January 2010.

    Interview

Found the position through monster. Went through the basic ordeal, submitted resume, gave past work information, location preferences, etc. Got a call one day on the spot for an interview. Asked basic interview questions. "Why are you interested in the financial sector?" "Give an example where you demonstrated leadership" "What about you would stand out from the other candidates?" Whole thing took around 30 mins. Said they would follow up within the month about the status, but they never did. Somewhat disappointed, but can't say I'm surprised.

    Business Analyst Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at TD Bank Financial Group (Mississauga, ON (Canada)) in July 2009.

    Interview

The interview for the position consisted of two panel sessions with two interviewers in each. They asked mostly situational/behavioral questions and were very interested to know if I had experience Leading or working with cross-functional project groups. The interview was followed up by a reference call to my previous manager. I always bring a portfolio outlining my experiences, skills, awards, reference etc and this is the first interview I ever utilized it (Very helpful).

    Negotiation

Unable to negotiate, perhaps I was to humble and excited to get the position as I just graduated from University. If I had to give advice it would be to always try and negotiate an offer, there is no harm in trying.
