Interviewed Aug 2010 (took 1 week)
I applied on line, the store manager called me for an interview over the phone, the questions were average questions. Nothing out of the ordinary. I recieved a call back and then interviewed with the district manager. Again average questions. A week later recived a call with a job offer and accepted.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
The interview process with TJMAXX was very easy and straight forward. I was called to set up a time to interview. I came in for the interview and was asked questions about previous experiences and my career goals and etc. I was called the next day being offered the job. I feel it is very easy to be hired with TJMAXX, as long as you demonstrate you are willing to work and have flexible availability you will be hired easily. The next step would be to get called in for a orientation day, which is usually 8 hours, and a plus ids that you get paid for it, and you do nothing but feel out papers and watch videos about boring stuff the whole day. The hardiest part would be staying awake. After that you choose days to come in for training, which is not really training, they basically show you a few things and then you should be good. Just catch on fast and you'll be good to go.
Negotiation Details
There wasn't any negotiating. Pay would be the only thing to negotiate, and I an tell you right now minimum wage is all that will be offered. I would suggest to say that you can only work the day shift, which is way better, night shift gets stuff with all the mess that customers from day shift left, as well as things morning shift employees didn't feel like doing.

Interviewed Apr 2012 (took 1 week)
In person interview at one of their hiring events before the new store location launched and then a follow-up phone interview in which the position was offered to me. Very simple, the interview process did not consist of any difficult questions. Really only consisted of filling out an application online ahead of time and then again in person at the hiring event. Once meeting with someone it was a casual conversation. We'll see how the position goes as I have never worked at TJ Maxx before. Hopefully it is a positive experience! As far as the interview process is concerned it was a breeze and they were extremely friendly and made me very comfortable.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Draper, UT (took a day)
I filled out an application online and they called me in several weeks later for an interview. When I got there they made me fill out another application. I thought the manager was very rude and knew right away I didn't want to work there. It had been two years since I last worked so she kept bringing up what had I been doing and why had I gone so long without a job. She also had some kind of Mediterranean accent so it was hard to understand her.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in San Antonio, TX (took a day)
Applied online, got a call about two weeks later from a lady asking if I could come in for an interview. Went in the next day, the lady that called me was off so another manager did my interview. Asked me general interview questions (Tell me about yourself, why TJ Maxx, asked about my resume), also asked me "If we were to call one of your references what would they say about you?". Filled out an actual application (the online was very short), handed him my resume, and he said he would speak to the other manager (about whether I would be a good worker or not), and she would contact me for another interview. Never got called back, oh well! (Pay was going to be $7.25, that was a bit too low for me!)

Interviewed Mar 2012 (took 2+ weeks)
Had three great interviews. First was a phone interview with a Dist Supervisor. I was told what an impressive resume I had and how much they looked forward to a face to face interview. Next I had a one-on-one face interview with the Dist Manager which was also very positive. The Dist Supervisor contacted me again and said they wanted to proceed with a third interview with the Store Manager and them-self, so a week later I had a group interview with the Dist Supervisor and Store Manager. Each interview was very positive and I was left feeling great about the possibility of getting the position. But after that NOTHING, two weeks later NOTHING. I think it is very unprofessional for any reputably company to not contact the applicants that have gone through this process, to leave them not knowing one way or the other. To be turned down is never fun but its a matter of respect. A short email or letter would have been nice!

Company wants new employees to hire in through a temporary human resource company to start at a low rate of pay. After several months of work, they will consider if you meet their needs. If I accept a job like this, I lose unemployment and if they do not hire me I will have to reapply for unemployment and it may be rated lower.
