Interviewed Mar 2012 (took 4 days)
The interview involved a personality questionnaire a data exercise with a case study and a full day of interviews with 8-10 TJX employers.
Overall the interview was pretty intense. Mostly behavioral type of questions were asked and questions relating to the TJX Companies.
The offices are huge and beautiful but a little overwhelming.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Framingham, MA (took a day)
They flew me out to Framingham and the next morning I had eight 20 minute interviews back to back. all before lunch. I think the number of interviewers just depends on how many HR people they have there that day. Everyone was very nice and friendly, very easy to talk to and funny. What was confusing was a lot of them asked the same general interview questions, so I didn't know whether to respond with the same answer every single time or give each person a different answer. For example, an interview question was "Tell me a time when you had to analyze data or something." Multiple interviewers asked me this, and I wasn't sure to tell the same situation when I analyzed something to every person to show that it was a true story, or to tell each person a different time when I analyzed something to show that I've had multiple experiences analyzing information.

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took a day)
The company forgot the scheduled initial phone interview and so they have rescheduled a week later. The recruiter apologized but told me this reason : " this somehow slipped off the radar".
The interviewer called 15 minutes later on the rescheduled interview. Asked the basic typical questions. They are pretty concerned of being analytical-oriented type of person as most interviewees mentioned here. So you have to cite an example of a scenario when you utilized your analytical skills at work.
The interview just took half an hour. They asked why I left my job I had 10 years ago ( which I wasn't sure that would still be relevant). I would assume they were checking on the gaps of employment.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Framingham, MA (took 2 days)
Once I got the email accepting my application, I was offered a phone interview with a Buyer for TJX. The interview was about 30 minutes and I was asked my knowledge of the apparel industry, my goals, knowledge of TJX stores, what I would take into consideration when planning and alloacating merchandise. At the end of the interview, I was offered an in person interview in Boston. They flew me out the night before, and the interview lasted all day the next day. There were about 10 other candidates with me, and two other days of the same thing (competeing with about 30 candidates overall). The first part of the day consisted of 10, 20 minute interviews with various employees who had worked at TJX and gone through the same program. After lunch, we had a group allocating project. We did the "Test" on our own and then discussed as a group, while the interviews watched us intereact and asked us questions about why we chose certain allocations. Afterwards, we were each assigned a different allocator who took us on a tour and gave us more insight into the job we might be doing.
Being able to interact with other candidates was kind of intimidating, knowing the people you were "up against." It was nice to hear their experiences though. Some had a phone interview and a video chat interview before they were offered to come to Boston. I also kept in touch with some after we left. Some found out right away that they did/did not get the position. After a few days I was asked for a list of references who had to fill out a review about me online. Other candidates who were waiting did not receive this email, but received an email with all of the interviewers email addresses so they could send thank yous. I wish I had gotten this because I did not get each interviewers name and wanted to send thank yous. Even though I was asked for references, I did not get the position. Neither did the candidate who got the email with the interviewers addresses. The thing that bothered me was that usually if you get asked for references, it's a sign that you got it. I gave 5 excellent references and they still denied me.

Received and Declined Offer

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Framingham, MA (took a day)
I applied online, and after about 2 months received an e-mail invitation to do a HireVue interview (questions pop up on the screen, you have 30 seconds to develop an answer, and then you have 3 minutes to give your answer). Exactly a week after I completed the online interview I got a call asking me to come to Boston to interview. The Boston interview lasted from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. and consisted of an individual allocation case, a group allocation case, ten 20-minute interviews with different members of the HR staff, lunch, and then partnering with a current allocation analyst to see what they do. The ten interviews were draining but they all asked mainly the same questions. The main advice I would give is to keep your energy up! Oh and they really stress being good with numbers so have examples of times when you used numbers/data to make a decision or recommendation--this is huge to them.
The people were nice, most were young and/or female. The office was beautiful, mostly cubicles or small workspaces though. Very collaborative environment.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
The recruiter was very quick with me. It was as if I was getting in his way and he did not want to speak to me. While answering the questions, I always got cut off and didn't get a chance to explain anything. Right after the interview was completed, I knew I would not be considered any further. I feel like I didn't get a chance to demonstrate my abilities.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Boston, MA (took a day)
I had a half hour interview for the CMTP position. Before the interview, I applied on the job board through my school. I also had to complete a personality test and skills test on the TJX website. A few weeks later, I received an email for an interview with a recruiter. I'd say the interview was mostly very basic with the questions. She asked about stregths/weaknesses, why i wanted the job, when the last time i went to a TJX store, what my favorite place to shop is, etc. However, she asked a lot of questions that seemed to overlap A LOT. For example, she asked about a time I had to use creativity to solve a problem. Then she asked about a time I had to use resourcefulness to solve a problem. There were multiple more questions where she asked the same exact question and simply changed the last word. It made answering the questions hard because I would find that the example I already used would better suit a different question.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Framingham, MA (took 2 weeks)
My friend who works at TJX passed on my resume to the recruiter. I received a call 1 week later to set up an phone interview. It was about 30min on the phone. They asked about why I am interested in TJX and the program. They want someone with strong analytical skills, so definitely stress that. Went over my resume and previous work experience. I was told to hear back in 1 week. I am still waiting for them to reply.

Interviewed Feb 2008 (took 2 days)
The phone interview went very well, the HR rep was very nice and I was able to set up a date for the interview on the same call.
For the interview process, there was a group of about 20 of us interviewing. At first, we had to take an allocating test which consisted of us planning on where we would hypothetically allocate types of merchandise (in my case light coats) to stores across the country. Next, we were broken up into groups and then were went through different phases of the interview process. We were given a tour of the building, next we were placed with someone who had the position we were applying for to get a feel for what they do. Then, we went through the individual interviews. I met with three people who each asked various questions regarding job experience and different case scenarios. Finally, we were brought back to a room with our group had to discuss the allocating test.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took a day)
Initially I submitted a cover letter and resume, and received a first interview. That consisted of a 1:1 interview with someone in their HR Department (it went extremely well). I was invited for a second interview, which consisted of a short aptitude test to see if we had a knack for planning. Then we went on a guided tour with an employee, followed by a group discussion about the test we took. This was followed by three 1:1 interviews back to back, and finally a luncheon with about 10 HR reps and the 15 or so interviewees.
