Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
Got the interview through my university's career website. Interview was frustrating because the kept repeating the same questions in different ways. Emphasized on projects and had a lot of behavioral questions. Be prepared! Also asked a technical question. Interview was supposed to be 25 minutes, lasted an hour!

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Mumbai (India) (took 3 months)
-applied to school, got sponsored for masters, got refereed by profesor/engineer @ total, got offered the opportunity without much fuss, as i was great at my schooling from IIT. but then had to wait for 4 months to get final offer and a panel interview! Total is a good very good company to work for, internationally renowned and technologically proven with weak points of marketing strategy in asia pacific!

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took 4 months)
Total recruitment process consists of 4 interviews. for me, the whole process lasted 4 months, between the moment I gave my CV to the recruiter at a career fair and the last interviwe with Operations Director. For the first interview, I had to pass a personnality test and then an interview with an external recruitment agency. The second interview was with a HR manager at the headquarters, the third with a career manager and the last was with the Director of Operations (my n+2). I find it strange that I didn't meet with more operationals, especially my n+1

Interviewed Mar 2008 in Aberdeen, Scotland (United Kingdom) (took a day)
Affter CV was accepted, I was personally contected and updated on any progress of my application. At the interview, there was very welcome environment. Started with a few HR questions about my behaviour and attitude. Then reservoir manager asked questions about the work and skills. Filled three tests for intelligence, skills and psychological. Tests seemed to be easy to do.

Interviewed May 2009 in South Killingholme, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the Humber, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 months)
All three members of the interview panel were polite and were quick to calm settle the situation. The interview consisted mainly of a semi-structured questions from all three individuals. This ranged from personal questions, general HR and HSE questions to specific technical related questions. Questions ranked from being easy to quite challenging but overall was ok. Interview lasted just short of 2 hours probably mainly due to me asking numerous questions. Initial perception of the people and work culture was very positive and I look forward to startign my new job.
