Interviewed Mar 2011 in Chattanooga, TN (took 4+ weeks)
TVA HR was slow in getting the ball rolling but, eventually, I was flown in for an interview. The planning for the actual interview was very poor. I was told the interview time and little else. Taking me out to lunch would have made sense. It would have made better use of their time and my time. Interviewers made no effort to sell me on themselves or the organization. They had plenty of positive things to say about Chattanooga. They needed to fill several slots and indicated that I would be assigned the least desirable slot. Interview was informal and conversational. However, interviewers did not bring in other staff to provide a better flavor for organization.

Reason for Declining
Offer was very good on salary, benefits and relocation package. However, TVA is under a salary freeze so future years might not see any increase in salary. Organization was governmental. Been there so I knew what to expect. More pros than cons in my ultimate opinion. It was a good offer and would have been a decent organization to work for. Kicker was really Chattanooga and lack of family or connections there. It was tough to turn down offer.

I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.
