Interviewed Jan 2012 (took a day)
To start off, my mom and myself are both regular Talbots shoppers, and one day in talking the store manager and my mom were talking about my recent college graduation and my degree in retail management, and the store manager gave my mom the application, and all but sought me out. As soon as I turned in my completed application, I got a call from the manager setting up and interview. The interview was by far the easiest and best interview I have ever had, and at the end I knew I had a job, I just had to wait to find out what job.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Dallas, TX (took a day)
The interview process was very simple, but I also was referred by a long-term employee of the company. Basically, I went in and spoke with the manager in which she just reviewed my resume and application, asked a few questions and that was it, I was hired on.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Durham, NC (took 2 days)
I saw their opening posted within the Mall's online career portal. I picked up an application and turned it in the next day to the stores manager. They called me the next day to schedule an interview time. The interview was 1on1 with the hiring manager. only about 30 mins. we first went over my career background ( customer service based) and then she went over the stores need. after going over what positions were available I decided to take the sales support role due to only wanting a PT position as this would ensure I'm not held to the same sales goals as the sales associates are. my references were checked the next day, I received a call offering me the position that same day.

I first interviewed with the store manager, she asked me pretty typical questions for retail sales. How I handle difficult customers, how I would handle an associate that steals, etc. Then I interviewed with the district manager who asked me my management style, how I prioritize tasks, how I close a sale, etc.

Interviewed May 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
Well it wasn't necessarily an interview, more like a pre-intereview. I spoke with the hiring manager who was at the cashier. I waited for about 5 minutes and she asked me to walk with her around the store. She asked me three questions:
"Since it seems you have no retail experience, why have you decided to apply to a retail store?"
"Where do you get your fashion style from?"
"What do you know about Talbots store and company?" "Did you visit the website?"
To which I admitted I did however I did not read anything about the but I did visit the website to get idea of what audience the clothes is marketed to. Overall I answered the questions in a terrible manner but for whatever reason she seemed to want to give me another chance and let me asked to do some research and give her a call back when I felt ready with my answers. I found her very nice, honest, and helpful. She gave me a little insight on how to answer retail store related interview questions.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Atlanta, GA (took 3 weeks)
I went through about 2 interviews over a span of 2 weeks before I was offered a position. I first met with assistant management, and I guess after getting their OK, I met with general manager. Manager told me immediately what the pay rate was (and it was well above my asking pay) and asked me to start the next day. That was the only negative, starting the next day was a little rushed and I could immediately sense their desperation for more associates... that trend carried on for the next couple of months.
