I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in June 2012.
Interview Details – After applying online, I did not hear anything for two weeks. I called the hospital operator, found the phone number to my unit and got the name of who was in charge of hiring new employees. I asked what time would that person be at work, and when would be most convenient, and took the name of the person I spoke with over the phone. I called back at their convenience - mentioned the name of the person I spoke with initially - and spoke with the person in charge of hiring, who offered me a phone interview. The phone interview led to an in-person interview, and I was offered the position at the end of the interview.
Negotiation Details – There was not a negotiation process for the hourly rate; perhaps because I did not have prior experience in this area of employment, but perhaps not. After signing my 'acceptance of position' papers in Human Resources, a HR representative called to inform me that my background check came back clear and informed me of my hourly rate, which would fluctuate depending on what time of day/night I worked.
