Interviewed Jan 2010 in Minneapolis, MN (took 4+ weeks)
I applied online through my college's website. I then had a phone interview. The interviewer was very friendly and personable. He asked why I wanted to work for Target and 5 behavior questions (tell me about a time when...). About a month later, I was invited to interview in Minneapolis. Everyone I met was so friendly and outgoing. I loved it! Minneapolis was awesome, even in the winter. We had a morning presentation about Target and two 1 on 1 interviews in the afternoon. Both interviews consisted of 5 behavioral questions similar to the phone interview. I fell in love with the company and am so happy I work there now!

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Minneapolis, MN (took a day)
It was just more or less a "get to know you" type deal with a recruiter that was assigned to my university.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Minneapolis, MN (took a day)
Was given referral after working in finance(looking at Target because I am a little disheartened after the last couple of years), wanted to get out. Phone interview, she asked very generic questions, had no idea about finance and had to explain what a hedge fund was. Asked what I did well, something I wanted to improve on. Nothing really stood out because it was clear she was not a smart person and I had to walk her through things. I'm currently a head analyst at a firm where I have done $15 mm deals and raised over funds over $180 mm. I can analyze the heck out of large numbers and have saved a lot of money for our company over the last 5 years. I also handle talking to our clients and examining and resolving conflicts for ultra affluent clients. Lastly, I hire interns and have had some go on to get very good jobs at other firms and ours. BTW I am only 26, so I thought I would be an easy lock to get past the phone interview. My resume could be built to suit anyone of the jobs because I have not been locked into one position.
Anyway, she told me she would take my resume to various parts of the company. Never heard back for a week and then she emailed me to say to check my job status...what a way to say, "no longer under consideration". Said they couldn't place me. Whatever that means considering that they still hire people that are dumber than rocks from the local Uni's. I guess Target wants clones who are cookie cutter cut outs of one another that can Google STAR questions and respond with generic answers that they could never verify. ( I could say I saved baby seals and helped deliver premature babies in Africa) Still a week later I am a little confused, I have 3 other people that can refer me but breaking through their dumb interview people is really annoying.

Interviewed Oct 2008 (took a day)
The people that interviewed me seemed to legititmately care about you. I didn't remember any negative first impressions of the people whom I interviewed with. They asked me the general STAR questions that you would get in any interview. I found it interesting that I only had to go through one interview instead of 2 or 3.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Minneapolis, MN (took 2 days)
Contacted via phone by recruiter approx. 1 mo. after applying online. Spoke about previous work experience and background. Received email within a week to take an assessment test. Next, the formal interview is conducted consisting of all behavioral questions. Lastly, they fly you out to conduct a personal interview and to also learn more about the company and their culture.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took a day)
They asked me STAR behavioral questions. It was pretty basic. I thought it went well, but i didn't end up getting an offer. I wish I had come up with better questions to ask the person, since I feel that's the only wat the interview would have lasted longer and I would have made a better impression.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in East Lansing, MI (took 2 weeks)
The interview process with Target was pretty straight-forward. Aside from the basic 30-Minute Behavioral Interview, the recruiter was very nice and conducted the Interview in an informal, friendly manner. The whole process proceeded like a conversation rather than an interview. Questions were basic. The only negative was after the interview process, having to fill-out an additional half-hour of paperwork for applications already filed online.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Minneapolis, MN (took 4+ weeks)
An unexpected phone interview lasting ten minutes. At first the questions were very general, asking about my background, what I expect from this position, and why I wanted to work for target. She asked one situational question, then asked if I had any questions...
