Interviewed Mar 2008 (took 4 days)
I was already a cashier. I applied for the Guest Service Attendant position. This involved filling out a short application. Next an interview with my supervisor. Then an interview with the next guy up. A lot of standard questions as well as 'what would you do if....' questions. I was able to use a lot of my volunteer experience as positives in my interview.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Savannah, GA (took 3 weeks)
I was already a current employee that was working in a different area of the store for two months. My ETL recognized my customer service abilities and my positive attitude and felt I would be better in a different area of the store so I was approached to fill the open position of GSA. Of course I was ecstatic being a new employee and already being offered a raise so I jumped right on the opportunity and asked how to go further in approaching this position so I was offered an interview and took the bait.
I went through the interview process with our Executive Team Lead for Guest Experience, our Executive Team Lead for Human Resources, and our Store Team Lead. I was already training for the position though before having completed all of the interviews which I found kind of odd.
I am terrified of interviews so it was a little rough for me but the questions weren't all that hard.

Negotiation Details
Non-existent. I was too excited to be offered the job because I just started in the other area and it seemed like a nice promotion only to realize that I was one of the most underpaid GSAs in our store history until just recently.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Sarasota, FL (took 5 days)
I have only interviewed with a Team Leader. I applied for cashier but he thought that I would be good for the Guest Services Attendant position so I was told I would be called spontaneously and that I must be ready at a moments notice to go to an interview with an ETL for this position. I was also required to have complete open availability.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Personality Test and a Drug Test.

Interviewed May 2009 (took a day)
I applied at Target online at 1:00 a.m. and awoke at 10 a.m. that same day with a call to come in for an interview the next day. When I came in, I sat down and took a math test (VERY easy) and a personality test (What makes a good leader, etc.) which was only 28 questions combined. Three executive team leaders then conducted one on one interviews. They read from a script and rated the responses on a scale of 1-5 (five being the best). The questions were all situational (tell me about a time when...) and very unoriginal. I felt as if I was having a conversation with the "cool" kids in high school and didn't feel that I fit the culture of Target (although I had told them that I admired it). After a few minutes one of the executives came out and offered me a job starting at $8.25 an hour working 32-40 hours per week.

Reason for Declining
$8.25 an hour is insulting to someone with a college degree...even during the worst recession in decades. I make more than that now making food at a gas station. The whole not fitting in thing also factored in.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test and a Personality Test.
