Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 5 weeks)
Target recruiters came to campus and spoke to several different classes and asked students to forward their resumes to the campus career services if we were interested in a job or internship. After career services forwarded the resumes to the recruiters the Target recruiters emailed a list of students back to the career services that they wanted to interview. Two weeks went by and the recruiters conducted face to face interviews with the students they called back. After that a phone interview was set up and you were emailed a skills test that took around 2 hours to complete. After the 30-45 minute phone interview the recruiters took 2 weeks and an offer was made. The recruiters gave 2 weeks to accept or decline the position. After the offer they gave you 24 hours to take a drug test. Overall everyone was very friendly and the experience was very positive.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Olympia, WA (took 1 week)
For the executive internship with Target, it consisted of a three step interview. The first was with the campus recruiter. It was a standard one on one interview where he asked about my background, previous work experience and asked me behavioral questions where I had to describe the situation, my behavior in the situation and then the outcome.
The next two interviews were over the phone where I was asked more behavioral questions.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 2 weeks)
I had gone to a career fair at my school and talked to an HR. The HR contacted me a couple days later with an email saying that they enjoyed talking to me and would like to invite me for an interview. Attached to that email was a google doc that helped us schedule a time slot. At the first round they asked a couple behavioral questions and they did the same thing for the second round. My best advice to you all would be to just be yourself. The interviewers don't want to know a fake side of you and I'm sure they can tell when you're acting. They want to know the real you and remember that you're also interviewing them to see whether you would enjoy working with them so ask a lot of questions and get well acquainted!

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took a day)
There were four people scheduled at once, each interviewing with a different manager. The recruiter was very nice and friendly, however, the manager I happened to interview with was not the best. She wasn't very personable. She arrived late, didn't introduce herself and did not ask me if I had any questions at the end of the interview. I am sure the other interviewers were not like this, and I just happen to have gotten unlucky.
Other than that, the recruiter the rest of the team seems extremely friendly. Interview was behavioral based and they get back to you very quickly.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took 4 weeks)
I met the recruiter at a career fair and was offered an initial interview. After the initial interview, I received an email congratulating me on making it to the next round of interviews. This round was going to be taking place at the actual Target store. Here I had a tour of the store as well as interviewing with the regional manager. Three days later, I received a phone call with an offer. Throughout the entire process they were very friendly and communicated clearly.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took 4 weeks)
I was actually referred to this particular internship. Interviewed over the phone, asked about my background, and a couple of behavioral questions. Told I was moving on to the second interview, gave pointers on how the second interview would go. Had to take a skills and personality test. Recently had the second interview, which consisted of two people. Asked about 4-5 behavioral based questions. Was told I would hear back soon, haven't heard back, and saw the job was re-posted.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Saint Louis, MO (took 4 weeks)
Had first interview at school career fair. Consisted of basic questions by 2-3 Target staff (Tell me about yourself; Why Target, etc). Then, gave 5 basic behavior interview questions. After a week, they invited me to the second interview. They ended up coming back up to my school for this round of interviews. The interviewers were the HR execs and had more difficult behavior questions.
Two weeks later, I received a rejection email.
Tips: They want peppy, outgoing employees. They are looking for leadership and teamwork skills from your past. Also, use the STAR method when answering an interview question (Situation/Task, Action, Result).
