Interviewed May 2012 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
I applied online and within a week and a half I had a phone call for an interview. When I got to the interview I had to sit at the application kiosk and fill out a pre-interview survey of some sort. I let the girl that showed me where to go I was done and she called the interviewer for me. I waited for a minute and she came to get me. We went upstairs to their orientation room and we talked for a little bit. She asked me the standard interview questions. When we were done she dismissed herself and told me someone else would be in soon. A second woman came in and introduced herself. We moved rooms and then she asked me questions along the same lines. She offered me the position, I accepted and we continued with information about a drug test that needed to be completed within 24 hours of the interview.

Interviewed May 2012 (took 3 weeks)
I submitted my application on Target's website and was contacted within a few business days about setting up a phone interview the following week. The interview consisted of behavioral questions (follow the STAR method to answer), and within a few more days was invited to interview again. I just got off the phone and answered similar behavioral questions. She said at the end of the conversation that she enjoyed talking with me (with some constructive feedback, thankfully!) and that I would be contacted to do an in person interview with a Store Leader and have to do an hour-long assessment (math, reading, leadership). I have not been extended an offer as of yet, but the process seems to be moving along quickly.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 2 months)
I was called and was asked a few basic questions in regards to my resume and was asked to go to a location for an in person interview. When I went in for the 1 on 1 I was interviewed by 2 seperate executives and that took about an hour and a half. It took about another week to get the job offer and once I completed the background check I was called in for orientation about 1 to 2 weeks later. The offices and conference room were cold and I defenitely felt out of place (with everyone dressed in red and khaki) while waiting in the break room. I would defenitely go in with the expectations of being there at least an hour. Be prepared to give answers to questions with a lot of details. The motto is fun fast and friendly so go in and have a fun and friendly attitude and be quick when you respond to questions. Be confident and believe in yourself and what you say but not arrogant.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 6+ weeks)
Initial communication was great. Recruiter did a nice job on prepping me for day of interviews. The onsite interviews were after an entire morning of hearing about Target's culture. I was brought in as the same time as 5-6 other candidates. Three onsite interviews. All behavioral questions and the interviewers were very robotic in asking their questions. No personality from the interviewers.
After the onsite interview, I had to take ~7 hour online skills and personality test. That was followed by a 2 hour mock business phone call. You have a few documents to help you prep for the call. What was nerve wracking is i was talking to one person, but there were other people listening, you can hear them click on during the conference call.
Target clearly hires to fit their culture, which from what I can tell is all about networking and building your sphere of influence. I don't think they mentioned the customer once during the interview process.
Recruiter continued to follow up with me. Thankfully I had an offer from my first choice, so it didn't matter that target passed.

Interviewed May 2012 in Dallas, TX (took 4+ weeks)
Reached out to HR manager and then they sent my resume to the lead campus recruiter. I had an informational interview and an interview later that day both via phone. I was told to take the test. Then a third in person. And a fourth via phone. These were situational/behavioral questions. Mostly, over the phone interviews because I was applying to a location where I wasn't located.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Alameda, CA (took 2 weeks)
There are three 1:1 interviews. They ask identical questions. They have a binder and tally up your responses. I talked a lot about the retail industry, Targets affordable fashion lines and my long term plan with them. Everyone was relatively young and frazzled.

I was called in for an interview after applyinf on line and taking an assesment online. Then had to take another assesment before the interview that was only available in the store. The interview was a three step process. First with a supervisor, then another interview with two managers, then a final interview a few days later with the store manager.
