Interviewed Mar 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (took a day)
I had really wanted a job at target for a long time and so I finally got an interview with them and I was so excited! I got to the interview and I was very nervous and the two people that interviewed me didn't make it any better, they were very intimidating and even though they knew I had no employment experience they continued to ask me questions that had to do with past employment situations that I had no idea how to answer. So this made me even more nervous. So the interview ended and they said they would call me soon once they had made a decision. So over the next few days I waited as patiently as I could. So after a week with no phone call I decided that I would call them. So I called and they informed me that I should have received an email that I did not get the job but I had been checking my emails and I had not gotten anything from target or anything like that so I just moved on and started applying at other places. Two weeks after I made this phone call I finally got the email! Ugh! They were so aggravating to deal with! I'm SOOO glad I work at Publix!

Interviewed Sep 2008 in Jacksonville, FL (took a day)
I applied with Target as an undergrad via our university's job fair and then through our Career Center. The first interview was one on one and very behavioral based. They are looking for people who work well in teams and have leadership expirience. I was then invited to a second interview which happened to be immediatley after. This was with two Target employees, one of which I believe was a regional manager. The questions were very similar to the first round, which made answering them in a unique manner difficult.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Jacksonville, FL (took 4 weeks)
Very long process. Got called by my school for an interview for a position in florida, no city or store or wage specified., after giving my resume at a job fair. Interview was 30 minutes, had mine with an ETL from local store. Went well, told me I'd hear back either way. About a week later I got an e-mail telling me to take a skills test. It was very difficult and you can't use calculator. I really didnt use one. After that I got a e-mail a week later saying to fill out my application before my interview. A week after that i got a call from a recruiter saying that I have an interview with the district team leader two weeks from then. Went to the interview, turned out to be an interview with the District team leader and a store manager. Another girl from my school got the same interview with the same people the same day. Told me I would hear back from them either way. Got my rejection e-mail 4 days later. So did the girl, she didn't know anyone who got the job. Target is very picky on who they hire. It was a long wait. My advice: Just be prepared for all situational questions. Thats all it was.

Interviewed May 2007 in Jacksonville, FL (took a day)
I walked into the store and applied at their kiosk. It's a pretty lengthy application. They ask the basics, such as your job history, references (names, phone numbers), education, available start/end dates of employment, and then there's the length personality test . Towards the end of the application, don't click the "Ok " button repeatedly past all of the screens or else you might miss the instruction to pick up the red phone (located next to the computer) to schedule an interview. They might ask you to come in to do the interview on the spot.
In the interview, you can expect all the basic questions, such as why did you apply for employment at Target, why do you think we should hire you what is your greatest strength/weakness, explain a situation in which you had a problem with a co-worker and how you handled it, your proudest achievement, etc.
The people are laid back, but professional. The work culture is very team-oriented.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Personality Test and a Drug Test.
