Interviewed Mar 2012 in Hialeah, FL (took 2 days)
I applied online and got called the next day for an interview at the closest Target store to my house (less then 2 miles). The HR manager had me fill out an inquiry similar to the one you receive when applying online on the computer in the store and then conducted several interviews with different members of the staff. The first two interviews were with different department heads where they asked me questions about myself and my skills and certain situations that I might have experienced in a previous job then they wrote down my responses for the next interviewer. There were around 4 interviews conducted on the same day, the whole process took around 5 hours. The last two interviews were with the HR manager and the store manager then the final one was with the HR manager alone to discuss benefits, pay, etc.
The environment seemed really friendly and the staff looked like they get along really well, like a family. I would have loved working here but sadly the HR manager said that all they could give me was $8 an hour with my 6 years of experience in retail sales.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
The HR told me that everyone on the level of team member (non-supervisor) starts at $8 an hour and that salary cant be negotiated even if you have previous retail experience. In todays world you need a job making at least $10 an hour to survive.

I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Skills Test and a Personality Test.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Deerfield Beach, FL (took 2 weeks)
I appliedl online and dot a response to my email in a few days. Called and made an appoinment. It consists of two interviews, first with a nice guy and after with a girl not very friendly. They asked me about my previous job experiences, why did i think I had what the company wanted from an employee, what did I do to go above and beyond to satisfy a client, how to handle a furious client...

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Miami, FL (took a day)
I applied for the Assistant Manager Trainee Program at Target through my university. A week after handing in my resume at a career fair, I received an email stating that I was a potential candidate. I was asked to fill out the application online, and complete a 94 question online assesment thereafter. The assesment was a bit difficult. It contined analytical, behavioral, and math based questions. Throughout the process, I received an email requesting a phone interview. The interviewer was extremely polite, and very nice. The first question was to tell him about myself, then he asked me why I wanted to work at Target. The third question was why I would be a good fit for the company, then he asked what were my career goals and where I saw myself in 5 years. The next series of questions were behavioral based like" Can you think of a time where you had to make a difficult decision at work? Can you think of a school or work project that you recently worked on and what was the outcome? Did you ever have a problem with anyone at work and how did you handle the situation? Can you tell me about a situation at work or school were you had to help one of your peers with a work/school conflict? Lastly, he asked me if I had ever made a mistake or a wrong decision at work and what I learned from it. Then of course he asked me if I had any questions! The interview was about 20-30 mins. The next step is to wait to see if I hear from them in the next couple of days. I hope my review is helpful! : )

Interviewed May 2008 in Lake Worth, FL (took 2+ weeks)
I applied to this job through the university career center and was contacted pretty quickly, less than 1 week. There were multiple interview rounds, 3 of which were structured interviews of at least 30 minutes. Each interview was lead by a different HR contact and each asked more specific behavioral questions as the process continued.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Miami, FL (took 3 days)
When I arrived (15 minutes early), i was walked into the waiting area. When the time for my interview came, I was walked back to the interview area by the district team lead. There was a trainee in the office that aided with the interview process, and she asked me all of the questions. They were very nice people, and they were very down to earth. One thing that I did not like is that during the interview was that towards the end, the DTL asked me if I would consider a Team Lead position rather than an Executive Team Lead position, to which I said that i would not be interested. However, when I said that I thought I'd be better for the ETL position, the DTL sounded like he was completely fine with it, and he just said that he'd work on getting me into a local store as an ETL.

Interviewed May 2008 in Davie, FL (took 1 week)
I applied in store then the HR representative set a date for an interview for me.. I went in a couple of days later and was supposed to be interviewed by two people but only got interviewed by one.. The lady that interviewed me said I did very well but when I called them back they said they gave the position to someone else.. It was kind of difficult for me to answer some of the questions because I was never employed before so I answered the questions from being in school to the best of my abilities

It was okay. Two people interview you, one asks questions one writes answers. For the most part, the questions are based on your past experiences. Then you do a second interview. Very similar questions if not the same exact questions. Pretty basic. The people are fairly friendly and they do a good job of telling you all about the company, etc.

The target interview was on campus and was all behavioral. I answered a series of prefabricated questions asked to all candidates. Again completely behavioral and situational question. What would you do if....?
Thought I did well but I guess not well enough.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Fort Lauderdale, FL (took a day)
I applied through my university's website. I got invited to an interview, and it was a behavioral interview. They asked some questions and I had to answer in terms of:
- what I did
-What my role was
-what was the final out come
The also asked me about the position. I thought that it was very structured by the company, and the interviewers did not have so much influence on the process since all of the questions they were going to ask were prewritten.
There were 2 interviewers one asked questions and the other wrote down what I said, and the key points. I thought they were friendly and not intimidating at all.
