Interviewed Nov 2011 in Oceanside, CA (took a day)
I applied to Target for a seasonal position. I received a phone call three weeks later asking if I would like to come in for an interview the next day. I went in and waited in the break area for about five minutes, during that time, I was given a basic math questionnaire. I was then pulled out by who I believe was a manager who interviewed me for about fifteen minutes. I was given situational questions such as:
Describe a time where you teamed up with another person and accomplished a goal.
Questions like that. I was also asked the generic questions: Why target? What would your supervisor say about you?
After that interview, i went back into the break room and waited about 5 minutes and then was interviewed again, but by the HR manager this time who asked me pretty much the same type of questions. (Note: These questions came out of a handbook.) After that interview, I was offered a conditional job until I passed my drug test.
On a side-note: Glassdoor really helped me prepare for my interview.

Negotiation Details
I did not negotiate, they offered me $9.00 which is more than minimum wage, plus an extra dollar an hour for shift differential. So I was pretty content with 10 dollars an hour.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Menifee, CA (took a day)
Applied online for multiple positions. Got called the day after for an interview. Went in and was told to take another computer questionnaire. It was some math questions. Then went in to interview with the team leader. Then had a second interview, this time with the store asset protection person.
Basic interview questions, describe a time when... and such. My responses were spot on and both interviewers liked them and liked my experience.
The position was one which I had done previously at Kmart. Perfect experience. No idea why I didn't get the job. Very disappointing, and somewhat aggravating.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Merced, CA (took a day)
I applied online, and within 2 hours of submitting my online application, I received a phone call, asking me to come in for a interview the next day at 9am.
Spent all night reading these post found here at Glassdoor, and practicing my answers. (Thanks Glassdoor)
I arrived to the store 5 mins early, was greeted and sent upstairs, where I waited with 3 other applicants, they gave us a Skills Test, that was mainly figuring out totals, percentages, averages and some math skills.
Kinda easy, but still made you think a bit.
We were called in 1 by 1, into two separate rooms and interviewed twice.
Questions were as expected (found on Glassdoor):
Why did you choose to work for Target was always the first question by both interviewers.
Situation when you had to team up with a person to get the job done.
How you dealt with a problem you had no idea how to solve.
When you were frustrated with someone, how you dealt with it.
And about 6 other questions dealing with past experiences.
After the interviews, I was taken to another office where I was offered the job.
Price was set already, $8.75/per hour, and told me it would be a week to ten days before i start work as they needed to get the background check back, and then they told me to take a drug test within 24hrs.

Interviewed Jun 2010 (took 1 week)
Went into the store and applied on a kiosk. Was able to apply for several Target stores in the area all in one Target. Applied originally for a seasonal position as an ovenight stocker. Was called back about 2 days later for an interview. Came into the store and took a quick test on basic math skills and special scenario questions that could arise in the workplace. The interview consisted of two parts. The first part was very technical and consisted of questions that would relate to my attittude as a worker, as well as my ability to be a good overnight stocker. The second part of the interview was more personality orientated and very easy going. Got a call back about 4 days later, offered a position as a part time cashier. The process was very quick and convenient.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Saint Cloud, MN (took a day)
With previous experience working at Target. I knew that getting through the interview process was going to be like. I got a conditional job offer pending a background check. Well, I never got the job and have yet to receive the print out of what was on my background check. I sort of know but would really like to know what Target's background check came up with. At the interview I was up front and honest about my background.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took a day)
After applying through the automated apllication machine near service desk, recieved a call from HR. Interviewed first with an extremely friendly day general manager who delivered the written interview as a casual conversation and then reviewed answers for extra detail. Passed off to night manager who overlooked my written interview as well as the notes from the original interviewee. About one hours time. Drug test paid for, heard back within three days of drug test.

Interviewed Jan 2007 (took 1 week)
Overall, it was pretty straight forward. The only reason I got the job was because I knew someone there. The most important part of the interview is convincing the HR that you're not going to quit in less than three months. Also, if you are getting hired, they will likely give you a job offer at the end of the interview.
