Interviewed Jan 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took 4 weeks)
There's a screener, usually the recruiter, or you get referred, or you apply. Then you do a general interview with standard questions (why do you want to work for target). Then they have situational interview questions on the 2nd round of interviews. Its all about if they like you enough to hire. If you don't come up with some good examples or do not communicate well or have a red flag statement. They will not give you an offer.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 3 weeks)
Target recruiter called for pharmacist position and had set up time for 1 hr interview. It was behavioral type questions (most of them are listed by other interviewers). Then second interview with STL and Pharmacist ETL which is similar format. Then last one with District Team lead which was also 5 questions.
The Key to successful interview is to present solid examples that shows that you are leader and work well with you team. Please prepare all your answers ahead of time so interview will be free flowing. Good Luck!

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 weeks)
I had three interviews and all three consisted of 5 behavioral questions. They are really looking for team leaders and people who have demonstrated strong leadership in the past. During the group interviews, they want you to respond in the STAR method (Situation, Action, Result). Even after you explain your answer, they keep pushing you for a response in order to fill out their chart. I caught a glimpse of the sheet they utilize and it also contains a Red, Yellow, Green Zone at the bottom and they rate your responses according to the colors.
The online recruiter interview was pleasant and she provided interviewing tips (i.e read up about Target on their website, etc). The first group interview was somewhat conversational and there were two pharmacists interviewing. The second interview was one-on-one (originally supposed to be group) and it was more geared towards leadership (it was a store team lead).
Be prepared for the behavioral questions and have strong examples. They were really nice but overall it was whether or not it was a mutual good fit for the company.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
I applied online for a Pharmacist position at Target. The recruiter e-mailed me a few days later asking if I was still interested and if so what would be a good time for an interview. At the beginning of the interview I was asked my location preferences. The recruiter gave a brief description of the company including benefit information and pharmacist requirement to give immunizations. She proceeded to ask me to describe my work experiences. Before the questions begin, I was told the interview would be recorded and I should therefore " take a moment to think about the question before answering." I was asked three question during the recording session. These were..Describe a time I had to work with someone difficult. Tell about a time when I had to organize a function from beginning to end. Why Target.
