Interviewed Nov 2011 in Portland, OR (took a day)
It was pretty standard. They asked for your experience, what you think your strengths are and what you think your weaknesses are. I got called for the interview the day after I applied for the fourth time. I had been applying for three months before that. I was interviewed for a seasonal position. I made it clear I intended to work for the company after seasonal ended and I ended up being one of the people kept on. I found the office organized and the interviewer to be kind and to know what they were looking for in an employee.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Portland, OR (took a day)
Got this opportunity from the career fair that was held in university. It was 2:1 interview, they didn't ask anything about the background. The interview lasted about 30 mins, they asked you to provide example of your past according to the question. For example, "tell us what have you done when you realized you once made a mistake in your decision at school project or work?"
I feel the interview was not very helpful in selecting employers because the questions were too standard, as soon as the candidates answered in a wrong direction, you are done.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Portland, OR (took a day)
Set up a phone interview at Target after talking to recruiters at a job fair. The interview lasted an hour. Started off with general questions about my education and work experience. Then was asked "why do you want to work at Target?" and "where do you see yourself in 3-5 years?" The rest of the interview was completely behavioral question based (5 of them), all of which were difficult to answer. Interview ended and I got an e-mail in the coming week to inform me that they were considering other candidates.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Vancouver, WA (took 6 weeks)
I met with Target at a campus networking event. A few weeks later I did a 30 minute phone interview with a local store manager. Finally, after another few weeks, I went in for a 1:1 interview at a different local store. My phone and in-person interview were coordinated by an HR person in Minneapolis (headquarters).
The focus of the phone and in-person interviews were sets of behavioral questions ("tell me about a time when...").

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Portland, OR (took 1 week)
I completed an application on-line for multiple stores in the area, and was contacted by phone within a week to schedule a one-on-one interview during which the HR rep asked me questions about my experience and the hours I was available to work.
I went into the business office at the store location for the interview at the appointed time and had to fill out additional forms as well as complete several on-line forms at the store's kiosk prior to my actual one-on-one interviews.
My first interview was with the team lead. We reviewed my resume and experience and I answered multiple personality test questions verbally while he recorded my responses. Once this was completed, I was sent out to the business office to wait for an interview with the executive team lead. During this interview we again reviewed my resume and experience and I answered a similar set of behavioral/personality test questions while he recorded my responses.
Once the second interview was completed, the executive team lead thanked me for my time and indicated that someone would be contacting me to discuss next steps if they decided to make an offer of employment.
Less than 3 hours later, I received a call from the HR representative who wanted to make an appointment for me to come in and review an offer letter, and, if accepted, to be prepared to schedule training at that time for a future orientation session.
I reviewed and accepted the offer of employment and scheduled and attended new employee orientation during the next week, starting my on the floor training in the next scheduled work week following the Saturday orientation session.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Beaverton, OR (took a day)
Some time after applying online, I recieved a phone call from the HR Manager of the store to set up an interview. You are expected to come ~15min early to complete a questionairre on the computer. It's a multiple-choice answer test with scenarios and outcomes. It's a little tricky. You'll wait a while, perhaps in the cafe, until the first interviewer greets you and takes you to the office. My interviewer was a Team Lead.
Target's questions are all scripted. They are the same every interview, and the interviewer has to write them down. So it's a little awkward while the interviewer writes down your answers. My advice is to connect with them. If you can't, it's all up to how badly they need you. There were scenario questions, mainly to do with customer service, how you feel about work, etc. No real history questions.
After that interview, I was led to another person, I believe a "LOD", and asked duplicate questions. Same process. Afterwards he had me meet with the HR Manager. She gave me the drug test information and sent me on my way.

Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation. I actually had to ask what my starting wage would be. It's quite low. I wouldn't have accepted if it wasn't just a temporary second job.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Portland, OR (took a day)
Recruiter contacted me vis linkedin and set up a phone interview. The interview was quite short because she asked if I had a college degree and when I said "no" she informed me that she could not move forward in the process. Wow, with 15 years of experience and positive results they'd rather look for a college grad with no experience? Good luck managing the turn-over that comes along with that. People should be hired based on talent, not experience or education.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Portland, OR (took 5 weeks)
I was referred to the position by a current ETL and filled out the online application. I was contacted the next week by a recruiter and was told to take the online personality/skill test. The whole interview process consisted of a phone interview, interview with a store team leader, interview with the district team leader. After meeting with the district team leader, I meet with the store team leader of the Target they were actually looking to hire in, but was told I was not a good fit from that particular store. Talked with the district team leader who said he would keep my resume on hold if any other positions come up. The interview process is the same for each round, 5 behavioral/situational questions( use the STAR format). Target is always constantly looking for employees who have potential as a leader. Make sure to prep for the interviews with various examples. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
