Pricing Department Manager Interview

Pricing Department Manager
Snellville, GA

I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Target in August 2012.

Interview Details – I am thoroughly disappointed at the results to the interview process at Target of Snellville,Ga. I was contacted by Jocelynn who did not introduce herself intially she just wanted to know if I would accept an interview with Target the following week. The appt was set for 9:30am. My part A STARTED at 11am. I was asked if my availability was the same & if I had any previously planned events in case I received an offer. From there I was asked 3 situation questions & then seated another 35-40 minutes for Part B. Two supervisor went to have a closed door discussion about other coworkers and it was quite unprofessional. I was asked an addtitonal 3 situational questions. Having previous cashier, guest services, and admin experience I was aware I would be qualified for the front desk and cashier. Due to to retail and sales I also saw a great opportunity to interview for the entry level management position. I was advised I would be thoroughly trained and to return the following day on Friday to interview with the other supervisor of this dept and drug test the though the company prefers not to on Friday. I returned for an interview the next day at the 10am. This interview started shortly after 11 for another series of same questions from the day before. I was asked to wait while the interviewer retrieved the OTHER supervisor from the day prior to start my next interview .After whispering and coming to a conclusion the supervisor returned to state that they decided to offer me the cashier/ front desk position afterall. I would be taking a pay cut since the salary was $8 and my schedule would be "all across the board" with various hours. Needless to say I declined the offer and expressed my concern. I explained the pay and hours didn't matter (though managers and employers openly discussed cutting hours to 22 hours). The attitude and greeting I received overall ensured me it was not the company for me

Interview Question – State a time when my position opened the door to other business endeavors   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – Unfortunately I was there when the other candidate interviewed for the same or similar position and heard all the comments the managers shared. She had just reached her third interview. And my time was not valued. It was very unprofessional to hear and eatch the manners of management and the eye rolling of the receptionist Jocelynn
