Senior Account Executive Interview

Senior Account Executive
Austin, TX

I applied in-person and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at TelePacific Communications in September 2012.

Interview Details – Filled out online application. Went through 3 interviews, 2 with the same person on separate occasions. Had to do a business plan....Had to be aggressive in getting the final interview, had to be persistent in when is my hiring date...etc...you need to stay on top of the management!

Interview Question – there really was not one, it was more about how do you prospect and how do you deal with upset clients   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There was none, take it or leave it!

Project Engineer Interview

Project Engineer
Los Angeles, CA

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at TelePacific Communications in October 2013.

Interview Details – Phone review with HR, then a face to face with hiring staff of that department twice and I needed to see the director as I guess to weed out the competition. The first set of interviews had a lot of technical and situation questions which was more to the TelePacific end of areas not as a standard industry questions. The director was more of a surprise to try to understand his thinking and logic. What ever it was he liked me. Received a call from HR a week later, took the WIZ quiz (drug test) and here I am.

Interview Question – What do you do with a screaming customer who won't take no for an answer to get their voice and data service up when you know you can't.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – None they have a set small range of starting salary, get what you can as raises are rare.

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1 week - interviewed at TelePacific Communications in August 2010.

Interview Details – Hiring and interview process was easy, typical paperwork drug screen and background check. Higher education isnt required, and is only compensated for upon being hired, not afterwards(Education gained after employment will not increase your pay). They dont ask many questions and nothing technical to test your knowledge of the field, just brief standard questions on goals, expectations, willingness to work and availability. Found out months after being hired that my paperwork (W4/etc) didn't go through and had to re-do it all over again. This could of been a lie to cover that I was hired as a temp. employee, then moved to permanent, but this is unconfirmed. Lost many months of paid vacation time and had no benefits during that period.

Interview Question – They asked me if i would accept it being really slow for the first year or so. I didn't understand what really slow meant by their definition, but i went with it anyways. Really slow was an understatement, as it was a graveyard shift with absolutely nothing to do for that year -- was a glorified security guard. Felt like a waste of time and a detriment to my career.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Started graveyard with forehand knowledge of work being slow, and with the promise that it will pick up and my shift will change. Shift changed from Graveyard to Day shift after the year as promised, and work activity certainly picked up. Went from doing nothing to doing everything and being paid less due to the shift premium loss; took conflict with management to get pay adjusted, and afterwards still wasn't what it was with the shift premium.

Senior Account Executive Interview

Senior Account Executive
San Diego, CA

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at TelePacific Communications in February 2012.

Interview Details – Initial interview was conducted with HR over the phone. This was followed up by an online assessment. After clearing both these hurdles, I went in for an in face interview with the person who eventually became my manager. I earned a call back interview to meet with the other sales manager and the general manager of the branch. I heard little in the way of feedback, but I was called in for a final interview where I was offered the position.

Interview Question – I was asked how I dealt with interoffice conflict. It wasn't a difficult question, but it raised a flag that there would be potential squabbles in the office. There were.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There is no negotiation. period. You get what you get. Either you approve and take it or you refuse and move on.
