Most customers expect the salesperson to be friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Go beyond expectations and give them treatment they wouldn't expect. I've helped customers make small repairs or adjustments to products they've bought. I've also helped a customer with a project they saw on a competitor's commercial by printing out their instructions and pictures, then taking them around the store to pick out what would work best for them. She left with everything she needed.
