Interviewed May 2011 in College Station, TX (took a day)
I had a 30 minute phone interview and then a written assessment. The interview covered expectations, requirement and an overview of the type of work environment I would be in. The written assessment was used to measure my writing and editing skills, largely for resumes and cover letters.

Negotiation Details
Negotiation phase was easy since the salary was set. We just discussed start and end dates. I would tell others to be look back at their past and pull from experiences that they can use to show that they meed the requirements for the position. This is important because the directors want to see that you know what you're doing and that you're qualified for the position. Be ready to display during your interview that you are excited about that position and that you have thought about ways to improve the purpose and mission of the office. This will impress them and relate to them that you're ready to take the position seriously.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in College Station, TX (took 4 weeks)
The interview lasted about 40 minutes. The University requires that the same set of questions be asked of every applicant and therefore the format was rather rigid. The only place to stand out was the portion of the interview where I had the chance to ask questions. My questions quickly told the interviewers my strengths and the type of work I wanted to do.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in College Station, TX (took 2+ weeks)
I was first contacted to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview lasted less than an hour. I was placed on speakerphone and questioned by a panel of 4 people. Typical interview questions related to the job and my experience.
I was then contacted for a long interview in-person. I sat in a room with a panel of 4 people and again described my experience and answered typical interview questions. I was asked about various topics, such as working with international students, crisis management, database management, creativity, etc.
Then I had to schedule a time to submit a written response to a given scenario. There was a 30 minute time-limit and I had to pick one of 4 scenarios. The scenarios were typical situations that might be encountered as a study abroad advisor and the objective is to answer in a way that reflects how you would handle the situation in real life.
It took about 20 days from the initial request to interview until the job offer.
