Interviewed Apr 2012 in Columbus, OH (took a day)
interview experience was very pleasant, the buckle I applied to is in a mall so the interview was held in the food court, the interview lasted about 10-15 min, I was hired (I didn't even have on buckle clothes during the interview) I'm almost done with my training and so far I really enjoy the job!

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Manhattan, KS (took 3 days)
I didn't wear any Buckle clothes during my 2 interviews. It started out as a joke and I ended up accepting the offer. So the key is to really have fun with it and not take it seriously. Do not be nervous because that really shows. They will make you wait forever even after you are supposed to be there and they will tell you to look around, when really they are all observing you. Now as an employee we all take bets on if you will get hired or not based on how you look and what you do during the process of waiting. The interview is 5 minutes on the sales floor and the manager is not really interested in what you are saying. They make their mind up within the first couple of seconds looking at you. There was a girl who was 30 minutes or more late to her interview due to an interview prior to the buckle interview and she was hired solely on how she looked and her availability.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Denver, CO (took 2 days)
When you apply online treat the personality questionnaire as your first interview. This will determine whether or not you get a real interview with a manager. They are looking for fun, outgoing people so answer your questions in this manner. If you passed the personality questionnaire you will get an email to call the store and schedule your first interview. This is generally with an assistant manager or a management trainee. During this they ask general information about you, your schedule, any leadership experience you have had, sales experience, your availability. They are looking for someone who has good strong eye contact, seems outgoing, wears clothes from Buckle or something that looks like you got from the Buckle. If this interview goes well you will be contacted for a second interview with the store manager (who has the final say in the hiring process). The manager will ask you more in depth questions, why you want to work at Buckle, what you know about the store already etc.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Orange Park, FL (took 4 days)
Applied online and got an automatic email afterwards telling me to call the number and schedule an interview. It was late, so I was going to call the day or the day after, but they called me the next day instead. I was scheduled for 3:30 that day, so we rode up there and waited. About 15mins til 3:30, I went in and asked an employee about the interview and I browsed around the store while she went and got him. After about 5 mins of browsing, he called me over, we went to the back of the store. We introduced ourselves, he told me to tell him about myself. I mentioned that I was in college. Then he asked what I thought about fashion and clothes. He asked about my schedule and what I was doing in school. Then he asked if I had any questions for him, then we concluded the interview. It probably lasted about 10-15 minutes total. He told me I'd get an email in 2 days with his decision. So, I leave, and 2 days later I get an email saying I wasn't selected.

You will have your interview "on the floor". The manager will walk you around and talk about the job. You need to be upbeat and excited. Also, review the outfits on the online store. You need to dress for the job. They may make you make an outfit. The top needs at least three layers, then a bottom, jewelry, a bag, and shoes. This is important.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Muskogee, OK (took 1 week)
I filled out the application online and heard back the next day and scheduled the interview. The manager interviewing was late (when I had shown up 10 minutes early). They had me look around the store while I waited with 5 other employees also in the store yet no one actually there looking like it was overstaffed. The interview was in the corner of the store and they seemed to want to get to know me.

Straightforward. Prepare to act out sales scenarios. You don't have to be perfect, but show potential and a desire to learn and be coached. This is a good place to learn basic sales skills.

Very quick and conducted on the sales floor. They needed someone who could work the weekdays, as that is the way you work your way up to the weekends.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Mesquite, TX (took 2 weeks)
Put in an online application. Several minutes later I got an email to schedule an interview. It was Friday so they scheduled it for Monday. I had a one on one with the manager as soon as I walked in. I looked around while they printed my app. He asked me about school, my previous job and my baby, my accomplishments and my hours available. We talked about school and working as teachers because that was what I was going to school for and he had been a teacher at one point too. After about 10-15 min he said they would send me an email telling me whether I would get another interview or not on Friday or Saturday. Let's see how it goes...
