Account Executive, the Columbus Monthly Interview

Account Executive, the Columbus Monthly
Columbus, OH

I applied online and the process took 6 days - interviewed at The Columbus Dispatch in February 2013.

Interview Details – I applied online at I sent a cover letter and uploaded my resume. I received a phone call from the VP/Publisher of The Columbus Monthly magazine w/in 6 days. A phone interview was scheduled the next day. An in person meeting is next. They said they would let me know. After that, you have to pass a background check to be hired and they check references as well. The phone interview lasted 45 minutes and there was no give and take. Basically the publisher asked questions for 40 minutes and gave me 5 minutes to ask her questions. Not impressed.

Interview Question – What do you do when faced with conflict and how do you cope with it? (this question was asked twice). When I asked how she managed conflict, she said she had no conflict ever. Then told me when pressed, that she deals with it.   View Answer
