Interviewed Sep 2011 in Waterloo, ON (Canada) (took a day)
I applied online. I got a call within the week stating that they wanted me to come in for a 1:1 interview.
The managers seemed very friendly. They asked questions such as:
-where do you get your sense of fashion
-when have you dealt with a stressful situation with a customer and how was it resolved
-why do you want to work here
-what hours are you looking for (quantity and timing)
The interview went well, and they offered me the job on the spot.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
I couldn't work around the on-call shifts....not worth my time to have to be sitting around with no guaranteed hours.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Kelowna, BC (Canada) (took a day)
Employer read a bunch of questions off to me from the website.
Then had me pick out outfits for certain occasions (ie a business meeting) and pick out 3 outfits that represented myself.
Did not seem very interested in the interview or to enjoy their work .
Didn't end up meeting the requirements so couldn't be hired there

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Toronto, ON (Canada) (took a day)
It was a Job Fair at an Employment Centre. I arrived there around 10:45 am. and my group was interviewed at 2:00 pm. The interview lasted 1h15" with a group of 11 people. At the end of the interview we were oriented to stay in line in front of another room and in 5 minutes they gave us a "Yes", "No" or "Maybe". The interviewer seemed to be tired, and he mentioned he had already interviewed around 250 people in the last few days. There were 2 assistant managers assisting him in the process. We were asked to be dressed "professionaly" but they were in jeans and the 2 assistants were in plain shirt and rolled-up jeans, which made me feel I was over dressed. I noticed some candidates in suits and a few in jeans, which made the environment look a bit contraditory. The overall impression was the manager was tired, sometimes arrogant and rushy. He was being kind of obvious about the ones he liked and the ones he didn't.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Calgary, AB (Canada) (took a day)
I first got a call from the manager about 3 days after I applied online. When I was at the interview, we started off with a set of very basic questions. Nothing out of the ordinary. After the questions, the manager asked me to go inside of the store and pick a couple of outfits that reflected my personality. I then explained the outfits to him and related them to myself. Afterwards, we had a sort of role playing activity in which the manager was a customer and I was a sales associate. When these two activities were done, he very politely explained my flaws and gave me wonderful suggestions on how to improve my approach to customers. Since this was my very first time applying for a job in the retail environment, I learned a lot about this field. The manager was very polite and professional.

Interviewed May 2009 in Montreal, QC (Canada) (took 4+ weeks)
Applied online. Got a call back for a group interview (consisting of about 3-4 people) within 2 weeks. After that, they hadn't called me for about a week, so I called them. They then asked me to come in for a 1:1 interview with one of the managers. When he realized I worked better with kids, he sent me to another manager in-store (who works in the kids dept) and I had another interview.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Kitchener, ON (Canada) (took 4+ weeks)
I applied in March or early April via the online application provided at The Gap's website. It was very formal, but I appreciated that it wasn't generic. It was geared toward the position, and made me feel that if I was selected, it would mean that I actually demonstrated something they found appealing. It wasn't that I had submitted my application and they were interviewing me without knowing anything about me. I lost hope almost a month later, until I received a call back from the manager of one of the stores in my area. I came in for an interview which, to my surprise, was unlike any that I'd had before at any other company. It was centered around The Gap experience. What I thought I could get out of The Gap, what I thought The Gap could gain from hiring me. I felt challenged in this interview, in a positive way. It wasn't those typical situational questions or anything. It was great. After the interview, I was told the manager would pass my information on to a higher ranking manager, who would call me back, and that if I didn't hear back within 10 days, to call them. 10 days passed, but I was busy and forgot to call them back. On the 12th day, today, they called me and offered me a position.
