Interview Details – The woman was very rude and she seemed like she was trying to make me feel awkward. I feel like she didn't like me from the moment she met me and the rest of the interview was just insulting

Interview Details –
After submitting my application online I had a 45 minute phone interview with a recruiter. Their whole goal is to make you feel incompetent with the questions they ask.
I got a call back to schedule a video conference call interview and had 7 days to complete a huge project about creating a new brand to incorporate into the Gap portfolio. Didnt move on to the final round because they said my long term financial analysis and profitability report needed more analysis.

Interview Details –
The application online was very straightforward. I then made it to a first round phone interview. The phone interview consisted of several situational questions and reasons why I wanted to work for Gap as well as scenarios. I had a very good phone interview and moved on to the 2nd round which consisted of a project. This is how the following 2nd round interview proceeded.
I was a little taken back by the 2nd round interview with my recruiter. From the very beginning, I could feel some sort of tension. I noticed her yawning in the background and her eyes definitely was not reflective of how I view Gap as the proud retailer I know it to be. Every question she had for me felt like it was dripping with disdain. She had her arm up on the table supporting her head like she could care less to what I had to say. As the interview continued, I began to feel very uncomfortable and was unable to answer any of the questions to the best of my ability. It's surprising to have put so much time and effort into and interview and have it valued so little.
Not much to say after that.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Calgary, AB (Canada) Apr 2011 – Reviewed May 10, 2011
Interview Details – I first got a call from the manager about 3 days after I applied online. When I was at the interview, we started off with a set of very basic questions. Nothing out of the ordinary. After the questions, the manager asked me to go inside of the store and pick a couple of outfits that reflected my personality. I then explained the outfits to him and related them to myself. Afterwards, we had a sort of role playing activity in which the manager was a customer and I was a sales associate. When these two activities were done, he very politely explained my flaws and gave me wonderful suggestions on how to improve my approach to customers. Since this was my very first time applying for a job in the retail environment, I learned a lot about this field. The manager was very polite and professional.

Interview Details – I have worked for the gap in the past, but in a assistant manager capacity. I did not expect a call due to my work experience being from several years ago. But I did call the store, spoke with the manager and I believe that helped push my resume/application through. Once interviewed, I believe they were looking for someone with a little more current work history and someone more on the visual side vs. the sales/management side.

Interview Details – I applied online and received a call within a couple weeks. I started with a phone screen. The phone screen went well and I was scheduled for an in person interview. I came in once and interviewed with five different people. They were all wonderful. I heard back within two weeks. The hiring manager called to ask additional questions and said she would get back to me within a week. From start to finish it was about a five week process.

Negotiation Details – I unfortunately didn't negotiate. I realize now that I've worked for the company I should have. They definitely low ball their offers for people under Sr. Director level. Sr. Director and above they offer the highest they can with their budget for the most part.
