Interviewed Apr 2011 in Charlotte, NC (took 2 days)
I found this position on my University's career website and applied. About 2 days later I received an email requesting a phone interview with a recruiter in the PA office which was set for the following week (on a Wednesday I believe). The phone interview lasted about 40 min, a few behavioral questions (Vanguard uses the STAR method to interview people). I was then asked to come in for a face to face interview at the Charlotte office the following tuesday and I was told after that interview I would hear from Vanguard a week later saying whether or not I got the job. So I went in for the interview at the Charlotte office it consisted of two hr long 1 on 1 interviews with 2 different managers. It went really well (make sure you ask the interviewer questions after they're done asking you questions and again know the STAR method). The only problem I had was during the 2nd hr of the interview the manager spoke to me as if he wanted to disuade me from working there...idk I thought that was little weird. But anyway the next week I got a call saying I got the job and I accepted!

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Charlotte, NC (took 4 days)
I attended a Career fair at campus. I talked with the recruiter for more than an hour and she suggested for me to apply and email her for a referral. I had a phone interview and they invited me to HQ. At HQ they had several information sessions, a tour, and 2 1-hour long interviews. They fed us and then sent us home. They paid for the entire trip.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 6+ weeks)
The first step was a phone interview with the recruiter. The following week a phone interview was conducted with a manager in the department of interest. An in-person interview was then scheduled two weeks later. The in-person interview was pretty long, lasting 4 hours, and consisted of two rounds of group interviews with local managers followed by an opportunity to talk with someone in the position of interest to learn more about their experience thus far. All in all, it was a very good experience. Communication was great and the process flowed pretty smoothly. The interviewers were all very nice and made me feel comfortable. My advice would be to know as much as you can about Vanguard, the industry and the position beforehand.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Scottsdale, AZ (took 2 weeks)
First you need to pass a phone interview, which basically consist of questions regarding your resume. then they will set up an in person interview if you pass the screening. My in person interview was almost 3 hr long. I was interviewed by 3 individuals. they asked me lots of situational questions, which wasn't that bad. Overall experience was positive. The interviewers were very friendly, one of my most enjoyable interviews so far.

The interview process is pretty simple, a phone and 1 in person. Interviewers are mostly principle level managers.
