I have given the first round of virtual interviews in Thermo Fisher. It went pretty good. All technical questions were very simple. The interviewer confirmed that he is processing my profile for the next round. But later didn't get any updates from a recruiter for further process.
- They asked to write logic to find first repeated character in a String using java 8. Another question is to find highest 2nd salary of employee from employee Table using SQL query. Other questions are related to current project.

Very professional and structured interview process. It was all remote (during COVID), and had four stages. First was brief phone call with the recruiter, next with the team leader, then with the team members. The last stage would have been with the managers.
- Please introduce yourself. Basic C++ and Python technical questions. What do you know about spectrometer? And other questions regarding my resume and their requirements.

I found job posting on Linkedin. Applied through company website. Received rejection after 3 months without any reason. Manager on the interview did not even know the .Net framework version they use but he was pretty self-confident to ask irrelevant technical questions :) Mostly standard behavioral questions are asked. Technical questions were irrelevant situations encountered on previous jobs.
- Cliche behavioral questions like conflicts.
- What are the architectural patterns you know?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in South San Francisco, CA
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (South San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2019
Had a phone interview with hiring Manager who did not even know how to ask questions. He gave a scenario and asked to give a solution. By the time, I could comprehend his long scenario, he says "Forget it, here is another scenario". Again he says "Forget it". The interviewer lacked interview ethics and closed the call by asking me if I really worked on them or not. Most unprofessional interview I have ever seen. Also the recruiter did not even bother to answer back when asked for feedback (out of curiosity of course for this lost cause)
- Did you really work on this or did you simply play with it ? Asked scenario based questions with negative attitude right from beginning.
