Interviewed Jan 2012 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
After completing the initial phone interview with Human Resources, an in-person interview with a staff member, an in-person interview with the hiriing manager, submitting 2 writing exercises, and re-submitting a writing exercise, I found out that I was not selected for the job by noticing that it was re-posted on a popular job board. If a candidate is not selected for a position, then extending the professional courtesy of directly informing the candidate would be greatly appreciated. A declination via phone or e-mail would be more than sufficent.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in New York, NY (took 4+ weeks)
Had four separate interviews with the HR manager, the manager looking for an assistant, the vp, and then with the manager and two other people. The process was a bit long - four rounds of interviews for an entry level position seem a bit much. There were no trick questions during the interview process, everything was very standard (e.g. what did you do at the last company, what can you bring to this role, etc.).

Interviewed Jan 2012 in New York, NY (took a day)
It's a tough interview, mainly b/c I didn't prep for the subjects they were asking.
They asked about how to write a program with classes to simulate real life objects. That was easy.
Then they went on to ask about Big O notation and its complexities and use them to optimize your approach to a solve a problem.
If I knew they were going to ask about that, I would have been in a better situation.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
As an ex-Thomson employee, I was referred to this position by a former colleague. After almost a week of playing phone tag with the HR person (who was in San Francisco), we finally scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager in Boston. I am in NY. The interview lasted about 1/2 hour and went pretty well since I knew some of the same people she did.
About two weeks later, I received a typical automated form email thanking me for my interest but letting me know that they would not be pursuing me as a candidate. Even though they listed NY as a viable location for this role, I believe they really wanted somebody in Boston.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
This was a 2 process interview:
First I had to interview with IBM who had the contract with the client for IT support.
I interviewed with the IBM Managing Director for this account - lasted about 20-30 minutes.
IBM liked me and submitted my resume to their client with their recommendation.
The client Operation Project Manager called me and within the first 10 minutes I knew I would not get the job.
The Job description stated they were looking for a network engineer for trouble shooting and support for building out a new Data Center.
Every question the Operation Project Manager asked had to do with specific configurations of Firewalls.
As in the exact CLI for what he asked.
The Operation Project Manager had his own agenda on what he wanted, nothing to do with the position that was described.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
I applied online (I believe through a posting on Monster.com), and was contacted by a recruiter within 2-3 days. We had about a 30 minute phone conversation. She set up another phone call between myself and one of the senior recruiters within a few days, and after that phone call, I was invited to come in for an initial face-to-face interview with 6 team members (1 at a time), which included another Sourcing Specialist, 3 other Recruiters, a Recruiting Manager, and the Head of Talent Acquisition. I was then called in for a final interview, where I met the head of HR for the Americas. After that interview, I was made an offer within 2 days. After I accepted verbally, I received the hiring paperwork within 2 more days, and started within 2 weeks.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
I applied through the company's website for a temp-to-hire position in the department that maintains Westlaw, the legal database.
Only interviewed with one person, who would have been my direct manager. Interview was relatively relaxed - focused on my experience and resume, no challenging questions or problems etc for a low level position like that.
