I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Thrivent Financial in July 2013.
Interview Details – Many interviews, lots of paperwork to fill out. What I find most interesting is the guy who was to be my manager, and who was for me being hired, hasn't had the courage to call me after his boss told him not to hire me. Really, that's the best you can do? How sad and unprofessional.
Interview Question – If you are going to do these many interviews in the first two weeks with us after boot camp, why didn't you do them with your other company? View Answer

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Thrivent Financial in August 2011.
Interview Details – It was three seperate interviews with recruiter, direct sales supervisor and RFO leader.

Negotiation Details – There was little negotiation. I was told the compensation model and that was it.
I applied online - interviewed at Thrivent Financial in March 2009.
Interview Details – Interview was very different. First interview was with a "launch manager." This person is commissioned to recruit you to the company. They are responsible for helping you get your licences and training. Upon completion of a haphazard training program, you are offered a contract. There are increasing goals that must be met to maintain your job.
Interview Question – Are you comfortable around churches and what church do you attend. View Answer
Negotiation Details – Hard to get them to put anything in writing. There were many compensation details withheld and would not share the sales plan. There are costs to the job that were found out about later. Lack of disclosure!
