Tilly's opened in a vacant venue in our mall, and needed to hire a large staff to assist setting the store up. They first set a small Group/Panel Interview of you and 14 other applicants and called you about an hour later to tell if you to come back for the second interview. The point of this interview is to be assertive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The second interview was composed of 75 of us and we did activities and played games. It's easy to pass: Just be the most involved, the loudest, and most memorable. Trust me, if you push yourself out of your comfort zone, you'll get the job.

They sat you down with other people, it consisted of 8 people, and they asked you the usual questions they ask in an interview, you dont have to dress proffessional just wear something casual. They also make you do a demo, selling a product to both genders male and female.

Walked in to turn in my application and was signed up to be apart of a group interview later that day. For the interview each girl had to pick out a guys outfit and each guy a girls outfit to start. Went into the back room and introduced ourselves and then were asked basic interview questions (how would your previous boss describe you?, what is customer service?, what makes you nervous?). Each one of us answered them one by one but be sure to be the first to answer the question to show initiative. Make yourself stand out somehow. To wrap up the interview we were asked to describe what outfit we picked out and what it consisted of. That part was very easy. Just be sure to exaggerate on what type each clothing is (skinny jeans, cotton, soft, light jacket, etc. ). After we did that we put the clothes back and were told we would receive a call back that night if they wanted us for a second interview. I didn't get the call probably because i didn't show enough initiative when answering the questions.

Called 8 people to the interviewing room, asking a series of questions. Whoever answered first looked the best. Once interviews were done, we were asked to stand outside and wait to be called in and then told if we got the job or not.

I was able to get an interview by walking in and requesting an application. Once I returned the completed application it did not take more than a couple of days to receive a call back from the store manager to schedule an interview. I had one interview with the store manager right outside the store and she offered me the position of cashier which was one step above the position of sales associate I had originally applied for. I was offered a little more than what they normally offer as starting pay because of my prior experience. I was asked pretty standard interviewing questions but it seemed like they were concentrating more on how I answered the reliability questions such as punctuality and availability. There was also a background check.

Its low end retail so there is not much to negotiate. They start out at minimum wage. I had a background in high end retail so they offered a little more. Most of the negotiating if there is any is regarding scheduling.

Outside group interview. Asked 4 questions. 10 interviewees, 2 interviewers. When they ask a question that requires hand raising, raise yours first. They are looking for assertive people.
