The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Toronto Public Library in Oct 2009
Interview
Applied through municipal website. Got a call from them to come in for a interview, done by one of the head librarians. Were asked general questions about experience with the library system. Asked to do a shelf test. Got another call a few days later asking when I could start, and was able to negotiate times.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No unexpected questions, but the cart to shelf may be extremely disorganized, etc.
I completed a 45 minute online assessment where the questions were very simple and straightforward, i was then, emailed saying that I was selected for an interview a few weeks later.

really easy and common sense questions. you'll be fine. takes a lot time to get back though, for me it was several months so keep that in mind. I thought i got ghosted but they just take a long time to process.

it was easy and really enjoyable 3 tests oral written and practical. common sense questions really. as long as you have buzz words like workplace safety and open mindedness you will be all good.
