Interviewed Mar 2012 in New York, NY (took 5 days)
Received an email to set up 1st phone interview, so far pretty much standard practice.
While doing phone interview, person was very professional and informative about position or shared as much knowledge as she had.
At end of interview she asked would I be available for a face to face next week I said yes. She then started to talk about salary which is pretty unheard of on a phone interview....We came to a mutual range in salary.
She then once again asked if I could meet again next week I once again answered I would be more than willing to set something up next week....EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE UP TO THIS POINT...
Then 24 hrs later I get the Thanks but No Thanks Email? I mean WTH? No reason to get someone's hopes up, she could have ended it in a cordial manner, and shot out the TBNT Email.
I just don't understand why she would go though the trouble of making me think, I was a "go forward" candidate

Interviewed May 2011 (took 2 days)
I was contacted and told that they were interested in speaking with me about a possible opportunity and scheduled a phone call. While my background was in the food business I have extensive experience in Management, Multi Unit operations, P&L responsibilities and program execution at senior levels of a large organization. Since I am an avid gym member and enjoy the atmosphere I thought I might be a good fit combining strong management skills with an area of interest for me. The phone interview went well and the person was professional although there was concern over my salary history but I indicated it was negotiable and perhaps we should see if there was a fit for me and if so we would revisit. I was told at the conclusion that this was the start of the process for them (they had called me the morning after I submitted my resume) and they should be finished in 2 weeks at which I would hear from them regarding their decision. After 3 weeks I emailed the person I had spoke with and did so 3 more times over the next 5 weeks but never received a response which I thought was rather unprofessional.
