Interviewed Sep 2010 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Applied online, got an e-mail a week later saying that I was invited to a group interview at the Renaissance Hotel. The interview was fairly straightforward, some behavioral questions, background questions, and questions about you're driving history. The most important thing to them seemed to be your availability, which was the first thing they asked.
After the interview, the hiring managers huddle up outside and discuss candidates for hire. They also decide who works where.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Nashville, TN (took a day)
I thought my interview with Towne Park was a little odd. The interview was offered to me through a generic email giving me less than 48hrs notice and no opportunity to ask questions. It was conducted by five interviewers that are Towne Park Account Managers for different hotels in the area and it was a group interview with six applicants being questioned simultaneously. We went around the room introducing ourselves with each stating where we were from and listing a favorite music album. It was a pretty normal interview but the group setting made it feel more competitive.
At times a couple of the managers were distracted by text messages or phone calls with one even leaving the room while an applicant was talking and two other managers were talking to each other and not paying attention for nearly half of the meeting. There was little discussion about compensation leaving each applicant with absolutely no idea as to what they could expect to make or how many hours they might be able to work. They said that some of us would receive an offer that day while others may receive an offer by phone call.
The managers asked the applicants to leave the room while they discussed which offers they wanted to make. One by one the applicants were invited back in. I ended up not being asked back in the room but a manager came to me outside with an basic "I would like to have you at my location" offer, gave me the drug screen information, and told me to expect a call when the background checks were complete.
Overall my impression was that this company does interviews in this way due to the high turnover they must have for various reasons. That is generally a bad sign for me and gave me negative first impression despite being offered a job on the spot.

Initial communication is through email, continuing to phone conversations into the group interview, and then onto information about hours and pay, GSA's pay is determined by tips so pay is really non-negotiable.
