Interviewed May 2010 in Houston, TX (took a day)
I filled out the application and then I was called in for an interview. I arrived and there were others there, about 5 or 6. Everyone was really nice though. We were asked how we would sell a toy to a customer and actually had to get up in front of the group and do it. There was a table with toys on it and you simply picked one and sold it to the group. It's not as bad as it might sound. It was fun! Then, the interviewer told a certain group to leave and the ones left were hired.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Brooklyn, NY (took 2 days)
Originally applied for babies R Us as a seasonal employee. took me 5 times applying over a course of 3 years. After a week they called me. had a brief phone interview. Asked me what I knew of the company && why I wanted to work there. Then they asked me if i could come in for an interview. I showed up 20 minutes early && waited until all of the other applicants showed up. we had a group interview. We had a group ice-breaker, then we did puzzles, we were asked to present to seperate items and try to sell them together, then finally we were asked to write down 5 words that described our selves. They told us theyd call us that night to let us know if we had the job && to come in for orientation. I got called && they told me to come in the next day wearing either a black or purple polo, black or khaki pants, & sneakers or black shoes.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Salem, NH (took a day)
We were brought in in groups of 5-6, both to save time for the managers and also for them to see how we interacted with each other. We were told to try and promote toys on the table, as well as simulate experiences with customers. As the interview progressed, the manager wrote stars next to our names on a piece of paper, keeping track of our progress.

Interviewed Nov 2010 (took a day)
I applied for the job on a whim because I needed the extra cash. Two days later I got a call, asking if I could come in the next day. I approved.
When I got there the store was crowded beyond belief. Because of this (I think), I didn't have a traditional interview. I was asked what days I can and can't work. After that, I got hired and started working the next day.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Salem, OR (took a day)
There were 5 people interviewed at once. They did group interview questions(what animal are you and why) and then partnered us up to do a skit, then individually do an acceptance speech for the 'crayon' award. After the group questions and skits, they then did individual interviews.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Lincoln, NE (took a day)
First we played some team building games, building the "next big toy" out of legos and each talking about why the corporate management should stock up on it.
Then, we picked toys off of a table and gave a sales pitch.
After that, we broke up and went in individually to discuss our lives and our competency to work at the company.
Only took about two hours.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Waterford, CT (took a day)
I went into the interview prepared to sell select toys to the interviewers and everything else people have experienced in their Toys R Us interview, but I didn't have to do any of that. It was just two managers and I, who started off telling me the job duties, then they glanced at my resume/availability. I was only asked two simple questions: "Do you have any experience selling?" and "Do you have cashier experience?". I did have minimal selling experience but no cashier experience, and they offered me the job. Of course a background check had to be completed first, but a few days later I got the official call for orientation.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Maple Grove, MN (took a day)
It was very laid back. I was in a group of 4, we were all women. First we introduced ourselves, and said what our favorite toy was from our childhood. I didn't have many toys growing up, so I just said a soccer ball as that was my favorite sport to play when I was kid. Then we were suppose to build a toy out of legos, that was suppose to be the hottest toy of the season. After that we were suppose to sell it to the HRM who was interviewing us. Then we were asked to pick a toy from the store and sell it to the HRM. It was pretty simple. Lastly, we had our one on one interviews. I found this confusing, maybe because I'm a blonde. But she asked very specific, random questions that honestly made no sense. She talked very fast. I must have said something right though, since they called me back. She said she would call that night or the next, called 4 days later and offered the job. The only downside: my first day is 8am-4pm Black Friday. I guess that's how you learn the best though.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Charleston, SC (took 3 weeks)
I applied online. It was the typical online application. Toledo is not a user friendly interface from my many experiances with it. After I applied I then followed up in person at the store i was applying to. This is what got my foot in the door. My past experiances that i was able to highlight in person cought there eye and i was set up with an interview. It was one group interview. There were 5 of us interviewing togeather and we meet with the Store Manager and the HRDS. They then took us one by one into the room for a little more personal interview.
