Interviewed Feb 2011 in Dunwoody, GA (took 3 weeks)
I think the only reason i got hired for this job is because i went directly to the store to which i applied and i demonstrated that i really wanted this job. She (the hr) immediately sat down and took a look at my application and told me my availability is perfect and invited me to a group interview the following friday morning. There were about 5 other people and a couple people that never showed. Make sure you are early because they will tell you to go home if you are late. First we introduce ourselves... Make sure you go first because they like peoople who put themselves out. Be positive, energetic, and outgoing. Then they ask you to choose out something from the store and sell it. - but therre is a twist. Once you choose something to sell they make you switch the item with another person. It is SO nervewrecking, at least for me.and they want you to approach guests with the question "what can i help you find today?" instead of "can i help you find anything today?".. Then, they talk about r us values and the star system... And then do a 1 on 1... More like 2 on 1 with you and wont tell you if you are hired or not. I got a call about a month later with an offer.....

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took a day)
I filled out an application on line. I was contacted later that week to come in for an interview. There were about 6 people there. We were asked to introduce ourselves. We had to choose a toy from a box. They gave us a few minutes to study it, then we had to "sell" it to one of the interviewers. Next, they put us in groups, gave us pieces to a little car and told us to put it together. They wanted to see if you would ask for instructions and work together. After this we had our 1:1 interview.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in South Elgin, IL (took 1 week)
I applied online and was scheduled for an interview the next week. It was a group interview and I was with 5 other members. The HR person gave us some basic information and then the three store managers came in and provided us with expectations for the new store (Store was just opening at the time). We spend the first hour talking about ourselves, selling toys to each other, and building a "creative" lego structure. I was then called in by one of the three managers and asked five or six basic questions.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Miami, FL (took a day)
Applied online, and within two weeks was called in for an interview. It consisted of around 8 people, myself included, and seemed really laid back. We started off by introducing ourselves and were asked to impersonate our favorite cartoon character. After that awkward moment was over, we proceeded to try and "sell" a toy we got to choose from two shopping carts in the room (be sure you go quick, some girl had it easy with an awesome Buzz Lightyear toy while I was stuck with some horrible, half broken monster car). Remember to mention whether it requires batteries and the age range, etc. After that, we were each called into another room one by one and I was hired on the spot for seasonal work (had to quit due to my conflicting school schedule, though).
