It was a phone interview. The interviewer is kind and clear. First talked about projects. Then he asked for information about graduate date, GPA, etc. Then he asked some very basic question about data structure such like when to use linkedlist when array, and when to use hashtable, etc. The whole process lasted for about 30 mins. But I performed really awkward.
And one technical question.
Check if a binary tree is a sub tree of another one?

I got an interview through the recruiter. I wasn't in Boston, so I had two phone interviews..each lasted about 30 minutes. The questions were very simple: strengths, weaknesses, any statistical background, previous internships. The second interview also consisted of a case study esque question about market sizing. Generally pretty simple. The people who interviewed me were very friendly as well.

TripAdvisor hiring is rigorous and they would jump to DS and Algo questions rite away from the start.

He gave me a set of nodes and asked me to search for a given node.
Note: Consider the nodes are in a Binary tree.

Very good experience. Everyone was very nice and accommodating at every stage of the process, even for last-minute reschedulings. The interviews themselves were pretty standard coding questions, not trivial by any measure but not meant to make you look stupid as long as you know your stuff.
All staff members were very willing to talk frankly about life at the company, and overall the whole experience was extremely positive. Definitely very impressed by a company I knew nothing about before I applied.
