I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Turning Stone in January 2014.
Interview Details – Applied before New Years. Got a called back on New Years Eve. Called back and had a phone interview on Jan 2nd. The phone interview took around 15-20 minutes. The lady said she will get back to me after her manager looks over it and get back to me by the next week if they want to bring me in for a in person interview. The lady was very friendly.
Interview Question – Not really any difficult questions. Ask general items, strengths, weaknesses, what you want for pay, and a few other questions. Answer Question

Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Turning Stone in February 2013.
Interview Details – Had applied for a separate job, but took this one instead due to hours being somewhat better, so, I can't readily say anything on the hiring/interview process.
Interview Question – There really are none. Answer Question
Interviewed at Turning Stone
Interview Details – You go through an initial interview to be able to take the blackjack class. During that interview they ask you why you want to be a blackjack dealer, what your customer service is like, and then they have a deck of cards and they ask you to add the values of the cards together. If you pass this interview, then you move on to taking the class. The class is about 6 weeks and costs $175, (unless your an employee for at least a year with no write ups and then it costs you nothing). After the class is finished you will have to audition for the job by dealing a mock game to your fellow classmates. If you pass the audition then you have an interview with the gaming director and he will ask you pretty much the same questions that you were asked in the initial interview for the class.
Interview Question – The most difficult thing about the whole process is when they pull a deck out and have you add the cards together. If you have no idea what blackjack is, then this will pose as a problem. I would suggest doing a little research and knowing the card values and practicing adding before this. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There is no negotiation. The job pays what it pays for the base rate and the tips vary pay period to pay period.
I applied through other source and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Turning Stone in January 2009.
Interview Details – I went through the class and did well. I have two interviews and they were pretty easy. It helped that I did well on my audition. They mostly look to see if you have customer service skills and will listen to direction. Often times on the games you have to do something different and the supervisor will give you directions. They look for people who will do so and not talk back.
Negotiation Details – Unable to negotiate due to being paid a basic base rate plus tips
Very Easy Interview
The process took a day - interviewed at Turning Stone in May 2011.
Interview Details – -Initial contact takes longer than expected
-After accepting the offer plan to be unemployed for at least a month as you can not begin until gaming license and drug test is complete (a timely process)
- Unprofessional interviewing techniques (interviewed in a public bar area and was asked few questions that actually pertained to job knowledge, skills or education)
Interview Question – None Answer Question
Negotiation Details – -This company literally throws away money so if they want you, they will offer a bit more. However, once you accept an offer they will not consider raises unless they decide to give a holiday bonus which only totals about 3% of annual salary.
The process took 1 week - interviewed at Turning Stone in February 2010.
Interview Details – had interview with the supevisor. Some of the question that were asked were: what would your previous supervisor say about you in terms of work ethics? Interview last about 25 minutes. Very easy to get a job.
Interview Question – what is your weakness? Answer Question
