Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 2 months)
First, it took two months to get called back after I dropped my resume.
The person who interviewed me has been by far the worst interviewer that I've ever had. He began the interview by asking me what the least amount of money I'd be willing to accept would be. I've never had anyone start out an interview like that. He then went on to ask me a finance question. When I began to answer it, he told me that I was losing him because he's not a finance guy and just an HR guy. Then why on earth did he ask? And that was pretty much it. He never told me a single thing about the role or the company. He told me that if I made it to the next level (an in-person interview), I'd hear from him within two weeks. Well, he called the next day and left me a voice mail. When I called him back 45 mins later, he couldn't remember my name or having called me at all and said that it was a probably an old voice mail. It was most definitely not an old voice mail, as I had watched the phone ring when he called but hadn't been able to answer it at that moment. So this person can't keep track of the people he calls, what he wants to say, or when he makes his calls.
I'm not expecting to be called back at any point. However, given the terrible impression that this interviewer has made on me, I wouldn't take a job with U.S. Bank. The didn't come across as a company that values or respects their employees.
