Very basic interview in front of two PIs. General behavioral questions and light technical questions. Mostly concerned with future plans and interest in research, little or no experience was required. You have the best chance if you are a good grad school applicant already.

What most interests you in solar research and do you see yourself continuing in solar research in grad school?

No negotiation, they have a rate and that is it. In the solar department pay is typically in the form of a grant which pays out quarterly.

I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a Group/Panel Interview.

The interview was very formal- to a fault. None of the questions asked had any soul to them. They were all very cookie-cutter, and inspired nothing. All three of the panelists were extremely stern, and had no sense of humor what so ever. It seemed like a very uncomfortable place to work.
