Interviewed Aug 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took a day)
Hiring process was fine. Very easy and quick. A bit too easy actually which kind of made me question why they would hire almost about anyone unless they were living on the street. Group interviews, one on ones, etc....

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Tempe, AZ (took a day)
There were several months in between when I applied for the position on line and when I received a call requesting an interview. After that though, the process moved fairly quickly. The interview itself consisted of many behavioral questions, and although it was very structured, it wasn't intimidating. I only had to wait about 2 weeks to hear back, which was pretty good considering the holidays were going on here. Overall I was pleased with the process, my interviewers were very friendly and approachable! They were more than willing to answer all of my questions as well.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Tempe, AZ (took 4+ weeks)
The process seems to be that they do a phoen screening weeks in advance and then they schedule a full day of interviews at Corporate in Tempe, AZ. This is the most tedious experience you will ever find yourself on. Imagine that your first interview starts at 8am and you do like 5 or 6 interviews on the entire day. However, they ask the same questions!!!! all of them!!! the same bad questions"mention a time when you were dissapointed" "mention a time when you didnt know how to do something and how did you go about it" just simple and pure manure that no one cares about and that people make up on the same moment you get the question asked. I must say that I invented all of my answers to those tedious questions. But the thing is that on your next interview, they ask you exactly the same things!!!! same manure!! over and over for 5 or 4 interviews. Instead of getting everyone together in the same room and asking everything just once, they waste your time like this. By the time the last interview comes, you you are tired and simply tell them off by answering all questions very badly.("mention a time when you were dissapointed" : my answer for real = "yesterday i drove to mcdonals and it was closed, I didnt know what to do so I turned right on the street and there was an arbys").
I am sorry if you get called in for a tedious day like this one. Then someone takes you out on lunch. The guy was a complete ignorant in the sense that they talk about you having to have quantitative and forecasting skills for the positions during the interview and this guy does not even know anything. There was a director who interviewed me who was a complete joke and had no credibility. No way I will take a position in that group. You must be very sstupid to take it or desperate. People at the Headquarters are very rude. The start pay is 38,000 USD and they want MBAs and Engineers LOL!!!
If you want to fly for free, take this offer, however be mindful that they do not let you off on time during fridays as to fly somewhere fun. This is the only thing the guy who took me to lunch had to say that was interesting and insightful.
Ohhh by the way, they put some basic statistic and math questions.
A couple of multiplications and divisions by hand. A question about a coin toss on probability (probability of getting heads, p of getting heads third time, p of getting head the second time and tails the third time). They also ask some basic questions about load factors (they tell you what that means) and ask you to solve for it. I dont know, in my opinion 99% of the people who work there got less than 50% of those questions right and the other 1% are managers and directors. Makes you think about how low level the company and the department itself is.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Reason for Declining
Not enough money, the job seems very idiotic in nature, a monkey should be doing it and people were kind of rude. I really am not interested in the positions.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 2 months)
Seriously, US Airways interview process was by far the worst that I have seen. I was initially contacted by a manager telling me that he will call me over the phone on a certain day without actually giving me a time. I waited all day, just for him to tell me that he will call me on another day, again without giving me a particular time. The phone interview was basically behavioral with some basic math questions.
After nearly one and a half months, I got a call to visit them on site. They called this the all day interview, where i was expected to fly in and fly out the same day. I told them that it takes me 3 hours to get to the nearest airport from which they fly and they simply didnt care. I had to leave at 4 in the morning spending 150 bucks which was not reimbursed, catch a flight to phoenix to reach the interview 2 mins before time. Thats how well they schedule it. The HR simply doesnt care about you and the managers have no concern as well. They just will not put you up in a hotel the same night or fly you out the previous night because they need to pay extra for that. They basically dont want to spend a dime on you as a candidate while calling you over.
I reach the office and ask for the HR contact at the reception. Apparently the HR contact is not in the office and i dont have a number to reach her (because guess what, they dont give out their contact information when you fly in to meet them).
Finally the rude security guard somehow gets me to the interview room. I have 2 one on one interviews with managers. Then i have a lunch with a senior analyst who has just no idea about the job. He is supposed to be an expert on forecasting and I asked him a couple of forecasting questions just to start a conversation (something about exponential smoothing which is the industry standard). The guy hasnt ever heard of exponential smoothing. Then i hear he was a high school math teacher working as a Senior Analyst in Pricing. He seems disgruntled.
Once the lunch was done, he took me back for what they call the "skills test". I am a graduate student from a reputed university and these people want to test skills such as 105445/5 = ? (without a calculator ofcourse). I mean, seriously what am I, in 6th grade?
Once the skills test is done, they have another interview and then send you the hell out.
My recommendation, DONT Apply to USAirways. The people who surround the office are either disgruntled or just not qualified to be there. If they treat their interview candidates like this, I can only imagine how they treat their employees. my advice, STAY THE HELL AWAY! First dont apply. If you make the mistake of applying, do not go for the interview to save your time, effort and money.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Tempe, AZ (took 2 weeks)
I got my resume in through HR with a contact who works at the company. There was an initial phone interview which I thought went very badly, but I got the in person interview anyway. The in person interview consisted of 3 interviews each with 2 people and myself. There was a skills test doing some basic algebra and statistics. Finally there was a one on one lunch, which is where I blew it.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 2 weeks)
Took about 2 weeks to get call back from US Airways after submission of resume. Had a 2 hour interview process and day after interview I was accepted the position. Took a couple days to think about and accept. Did much negotiating. For those who are looking to interview with US Airways remember your resume must outline all the key components which were given in the job description, if not, your resume will get tossed to the side. A computer automated system first scans all resumes for key words and phrases. Then a recruiter reviews all resumes which are then forwards to the hiring managers.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Tempe, AZ (took 2 months)
I originally applied for the positing at the end of December, I received an email requesting a phone interview at the end of January, the phone interview was done before the end of January. This was simple background questions (it was an obvious script) "Tell me about your recent job..", "What made you apply for this position.." then it was some Case scenario questions. "Describe two things which affect the airline industry today...
Eventually after 2 weeks I received a request for a in person interview at the Tempe headquarters. They gave me a date for the interview, and told me someone would contact me to make flight arrangements, and no on ever did. After much trouble, and mis-communication on US Airways end, we made a new interview date and I received a flight booking. I asked if I could be flown in a day early, but was given a negative reaction.
I had a face to face interview on a Friday in mid-February. Worst ever travel arrangements, I travelled 8 Hours to Tempe, had to run to catch a Employee Shuttle, arrived 10 minutes late for the interview, they rushed me through a series of Behavior and Background based questions with the manager and director, which lasted 45 minutes, and my flight was in 40 minutes, knowing I would possible miss the flight, another employee drove me in their car, and again I began running, with customs and boarding, I almost missed the flight.
Never again will I accept to fly across America for what they call "a day trip", Going from NY to Arizona in one day is not a day trip, its called "unprofessionalism". I looked like a mess at the interview, not to mention the flight attendant accidentaly spilled coffee on my shirt which I had no time to correct.
After the face-to-face interview, I never heard back despite my several emails, finally in March, I sent a final email, and received an email saying I was not being considered.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Phoenix, AZ (took 1+ week)
Redundant & boring, Waste of time for a position that was not even the one being posted, US airways has done that many times in the pass in multiple departments system wide, before and even more so after the America West merger, Working for this company is a waste of time and not worth the chump change they call a salary
