Flight Attendant at US Airways

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Tempe, AZ Feb 2009 – Reviewed Mar 2, 2013

Interview Details – I applied in person, however, applications are taken on line only.
I would like to state.that there were applicants that PAID several thousand dollars to attend Flight Attendant Schools ..these were non airline specific...and DID NOT HELP THEM. Save your money.Airlines prefer no other training.

Interview Question – There was a group interview....everyone sitting around a large conference table. One by one they went around and you had to introduce yourself, say a little something about yourself, and also state why YOU would be the best person for this job. Afterwards, certain individauls were called for one on one interviews. We were then presented with a job offer or told they would call you..which seemed to be code for sorry...no job.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – No negotion....they offered an opening you accepted or passed...they might on occasion have different class starting dates.

Clerk at US Airways

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Tempe, AZ – Reviewed Sep 17, 2012

Interview Details – I was contacted by someone who works in HR to set up the interview for this position. I was interviewed by three directors, which was a bit intimidating, though now it is usually managers and senior analysts who interview candidates. The interview I went through had many situational and behavioral questions, but not many technical ones as I was being interviewed by directors of several different departments.

Interview Question – I did not receive any technical questions, but they asked questions about different situations (i.e. bad team/group member, financial/excel analysis, etc).   Answer Question

Consisted of an interview with the HR Generalist, Manager, and Supervisor asking the typical behavioral-based questions. After that I was told it would take about a week for them to make their decision.

Interview Question – Give me a time when you made a mistake on something you were working on. What was the situation, what did you do, and how did it turn out?   Answer Question

Data Warehouse Developer at US Airways

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Tempe, AZ Mar 2012 – Reviewed Jun 19, 2012

Interview Details – It's a fairly involved process. Phone screen first, then F2F interviews with the team, and hiring manager. As a union shop, they are required to ask a standard set of questions. It's actually a fairly ineffective interview, as it doesn't get to culture or personality conflicts.
After that, there is a lengthy background check, security clearance, credit check, and a drug screen. It takes a very long time.

Interview Question – They use canned interview questions about experience, and skill familiarity.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There is basically no negotiation. Everything is pre-defined - salary, vacation, etc.
