Interviewed Jun 2010 in Missoula, MT (took 4 days)
Surprisingly open process, heavily weighted toward skills, rather than certifications. A recruiter contacted me, described the job, checked my clearance and conveyed the details of the job to me. Everyone in the process was immaculately professional and friendly. Be honest with them about your skills and comfort level, get the message across that even if you don't know it all, you know where to find the answers. It worked for me.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Unfortunately, the compensation wasn't competitive, even though the benefits were amazing. There was a great deal of travel involved and that gets expensive, even when you're supposedly being compensated. Professional development costs would've also been on my tab and I just can't afford that. It's a shame, because it would've been a marvelous opportunity with wonderful people.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Presentation, a Skills Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 1 week)
I created an account and resume with usajobs.gov and applied on line, very easy. Once the posting closed and my credentials were verified and I was found eligable for the position, my resume was forwarded to the selecting official. I then received a phone call from the selecting officials office for an initial interview, then after refferance checks was called back for the job offer.

This organization is military, so in order to interview with them you must go to a recruiter and find your job within the organization. Then, when you do find that job you have to go to a school for the prescribed amount of time. Once that is complete, then you can apply for a job full-time within the National Guard. The benefits and pay are exactly the same as active duty personnel.
I sat in front of a panel who asked me questions of leadership.

Interviewed Feb 2009 (took a day)
I was reffered by a fellow soldier to apply for the position. A date was arranged for the interview. When I entered, I saluted and approached the table. I was introduced by the head of the board to all of the persons on the interview board. I was asked simple questions about army standards and regulations. I was then asked about regulations that I learned from training in AIT. After all the questions were asked, they dismissed me. I saluted once again before leaving and was allowed to go home.

Interviewed Jan 2007 in Roanoke, VA (took 5 days)
I had to audition on the saxophone in front of 3 sergeants in the Band and score at least a 2.6 out of 4.0.
I also had to have an interview with my recruiter and the leader of the band and take the ASVAB. I went to MEPS in Petersburg, VA to take the ASVAB and also to go through a full physical and drug test. We were up at 4 in the morning to get us used to the military lifestyle.
