Interviewed Nov 2010 in Tacoma, WA (took 2 days)
The hiring process is long in which they require interviews with four associates. The first level was with the recruiter and after a few weeks, I was asked to come in and interview with the manager and an associate. After that, it was about a month before I heard back and was asked to come into for a final interview. After a week, I was given an offer. The interviews were typical in which they ask for experience and background. They explain the Umpqua culture and ask if it's something I would fit into. I'm then given an opportunity to ask questions.
The process was pleasant with everyone extremely friendly. They were very upfront about the culture, wanting to be sure I would fit in.

Negotiation Details
I was able to negotiate pay and wish I had negotiated vacation as well. The process was pleasant but did take a little bit of time to get back to me. The first day they extended the offer and asked how much I would like to make, what would make me thrilled, happy, or turn down the job. So I gave them my range and they came very close to the thrilled amount.
Other Details
I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.

They make you get interviewed by 3 people before you can be hired. Often times they ask you the same basic questions.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 4 days)
The interview process at Umpqua is fantastic. It is very structured, so the interviewers can focus on getting to know the candidate, rather than focusing on what questions to ask. Every candidate is interviewed by four people (one 4:1, two 2:1, on 4:1 etc). This is to ensure that the job is offered to a person that will be a good fit. It keeps the hiring manager from hiring out of desperation. The associates are also involved with interviews sometimes, which is awesome.

Must interview with four people with the company at minimum. Consisted of one-on-one interviews, group interviews, and phone interviews (when from a different location). Ask situational questions that are largely customer service based. The company seems to value the personality of the employee more than the previous skills since they believe that they can train the individual to complete the operational side.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took a day)
They were two very nice people. The general manager and the store manager. For me, it seemed easy because I'm one of those people that always shows up to work on time, does the job with a smile on my face, etc. They saw that and they liked it enough to give me a call back. I was unable to take the offer in the end (unfortunately) but they seemed like a really great company to work for. I would definitely recommend trying to work for them. I was disappointed that I couldn't.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Portland, OR (took 4+ weeks)
The job was posted and said that they wanted 10 years of wealth management experience. Then it turned out to be more of an entry level position. I guess they were looking for someone who had been internal or a brokers assistant...? not sure.
