I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at University Hospitals of Cleveland in September 2012.
Interview Details – The process for an external candidate can be very lengthy. You have to complete a behavioral based interview with a recruiter over the phone prior to receiving a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager.
Interview Question – None of the questions are difficult, you just need to be able to give a full STAR: Situation/Task, Action and Result. This requires you to be as specific as possible, pulling from various situations in your career/work history. Answer Question
I applied through other source and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at University Hospitals of Cleveland in January 2010.
Interview Details – The in-house recruiter was really unorganized - didn't contact me when she said, didn't have any information for me when I contacted her. The first interview with the hiring manager was very good - he focused on the interview and asked relevant questions. The second round was with a series of managers who all were unprepared and acted as if the interview was a bother. Each interview started late and ended early. The interviewers were rushed and more focused on getting to that next meeting than in learning about my background.
Interview Question – They had the bias about a nonhealthcare background and 'asked' several times if I really understood how difficult it is to be in their environment, as the resources are so tight. View Answer
